There’s a saying going around that the United States government violated all the treaties with the tribes.

The government, on the advice of some do-gooders, tried to destroy the Indians and their heritage.

The tribes are trying to turn this around, teaching the native language and opening museums.

The Comanche nation has a museum at Lawton. (On my bucket list.)

The Cheyenne tribe has a museum at Cheyenne, Okla. It’s awesome.

The Chickasaw tribe is in the Sulphur area.

Our local museum has some Indian exhibits. (Another on my bucket list.)

I, personally, have found tribal histories very interesting. If you like history it would be worth your time to see these places.
