I was gonna write about the impeachment circus. Everybody including me is sick of those sickos.

Dorene and I attended the Pioneer Telephone retirees Christmas party. It’s always enjoyable. Richard Ruhl gave a progress report on the co-op – mega bites, giga bites and so on. This ole country boy understood very little (not Richard’s fault). I just don’t understand all the technological terms. Pioneer is changing over the Newcastle and Blanchard exchanges, some of those folks don’t want Pioneer crews in the yard.

I was born in 1939. I remember the war years. Maybe one home in the community had a phone. If we wanted to call someone or someone needed to get an important message to us, they called a neighbor and the neighbor relayed the message. It was neighbor helping neighbor.

Heck, hardly anyone had a tractor with a starter on it; we used the crank to get them started.

It was up to everyone in a community to maintain the phone lines.

I try to help my neighbors or anyone, for that matter, If they are needful and I can help them. It’s the American spirit.
