Cell Phones

Monday, Dec 23rd, there was a traffi c accident on Main Street. ...

She had slowed down to make her turn, she was rear ended by another vehicle, there were no skid marks, according to the report I heard. I would lay odds the person in the colliding vehicle was on her cell phone.

I personally have observed several people running that red light, while they were using their cell phones (messing with their cell phones would be a better description). From now on, if I can do it safely, I will get a tag number, and turn it in to the proper authorities, and sign a complaint against the violator.

I challenge our lawmakers to pass a law, if you’re caught in a traffi c violation, using your cellphone, law enforcement can seize your cellphone, if you cause bodily injuries, you go to jail. Causing a death, a long-term of prison, with community service.

A while back, there was an accident on I-35, a woman and some children were killed, they rear ended a semi; it was determined the driver was on her cell phone.

Enough is enough. These newer vehicles are Bluetooth compatible, even an ole guy like me can do it, there’s no excuse for these accidents to happen.

If these people lose their high dollar cellphones, they might wake up. Or maybe not, some people just don’t get it.

I reckon I’ve made my point.

God bless America.
