Doin’ With Whatcha Got
It seems like, things are in a mess, but it could be a lot worse. Let’s look at that.
Going back to the turn of the century, our ancestors were settling this state, they did with what they had, and most times, it wasn’t very much. They pretty much raised their own food, canning their own vegetables, raising their own meat, or hunting, they devised ways to preserve enough to get through the winter – canning, so if meat wasn’t available, they could get by. And at times, food wasn’t always readily available, they did with what they had, stretching it as far as it would go, neighbors helped neighbors, trading foodstuffs.
Disease sometimes spread, pneumonia would wipe out entire families, cholera, bubonic plague – the cures weren’t readily available. Some folks survived, many didn’t.
The depression, no money, no jobs, folks did with what they had – again –they made do; it was make it with what they had or nothing. Us Americans are tough, our forefathers survived.
We need to be thankful for what we have, we can survive! Let’s stand up for what’s right! This old world, has been through many trials, its always been a test of our faith! Faith of our fathers, it’s up to us to carry on that faith. We will survive!
God bless America!
