Nobody believes more than I do about giving someone a second chance. The proponents of SQ 805, in their ads on TV and other places, would lead us to believe, the question would benefit first offenders. It would; however, there’s provisions in the bill, if passed, would put repeat offenders back on the street, not a good thing.

If SQ 805 becomes law, the previous record of the person on trial, cannot be used against them.

I strongly suggest, talk to someone in law enforcement, get their opinions, find out the impact on the public.

First offenders, need a chance to be rehabilitated, maybe learn a trade, to have a new outlook on life. Some will take advantage of this, and start a new life. Others, will be back on the street, doing the same thing over. My opinion, SQ 805 in its present form is not a good thing. So get the facts before you vote.

On another note, the hearings for the new justice of the Supreme Court, before the Senate Judiciary Committee, the democrats on the committee, have made a mockery of the hearings. Personally, they shouldn’t be allowed to interview someone to clean restrooms; they don’t have the common sense for that!
