Left’s philosophy: ‘Keep everything in the ground’
It seems unreasonable that a party that once called itself the party of the working man is seriously trying to destroy that system.
But that to be the case.
The Biden Administration appears to be determined to turn America into a satellite of a one-world government.
Every step Biden has taken thus far appears designed to destroy free enterprise and freedom in the U.S.
The call to legislate a $15 an hour minimum wage for everyone is a plan to put small businesses out of business and destroy opportunities for young entry level employees.
The apparent goal is to put a majority of Americans under the thumb of government.
The Biden Administration cabinet picks have been far-left radicals.
Consider his nominee for Interior secretary, Deb Haaland, a former Democrat representative from New Mexico.
Approved by a 51-40 Senate vote last week, Haaland supports Biden’s decision to halt further construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
Sen. Steve Daines of Montana, who voted against confirming Haaland, said her positions are important as she’s called for a ban on oil pipelines, on fracking and all fossil fuel infrastructure.
She is a Green New Deal zealot.
Daines cited his concerns this way:
“... Interior, has a significant influence on policy outcomes and our way of life in a place like Montana. It relates to public lands. We want to see responsible management of our public lands. We want to protect our public lands and national parks, of course.
“ We also want to make sure we can continue to utilize our public lands where it makes sense in environmentally sound ways to develop our natural resources of oil, natural gas, and coal.”
Daines described the current administration’s policies as a “significant lurch to the left, unlike anything I’ve seen” as it relates to fundamental policies and philosophies, as it relates to managing our natural resources. They want to lock up our lands. They want to really destroy made-in-America energy.”
The same policies will be detrimental to Oklahoma as well as Montana.
He called the Biden actions as virtue signaling to the left.
He was critical of the Biden cancellation of the Keystone pipeline.
A chemical engineer by training, Haines commented:
“...There is no sound, rational scientific basis for President Biden to have canceled the Keystone pipeline, other than I think it was virtue signaling for really the more extreme environmental parts of the Democratic Party.
“What it will do to Montana, first of all - it will cut about $80 million of tax revenues every year for the state of Montana, and some of them are impoverished counties, so it’s a tremendous source of tax revenues.
“Second is it’s (the pipeline) actually the most environmentally sound way to transport oil, because that oil is going to be transported one way or the other. A pipeline has the least amount of carbon emissions compared to rail or truck.
“So it doesn’t make any scientific reasons to cancel it. In fact, it will actually increase the million tons of CO2 emissions per year because he canceled it. And so what he’s done here is he’s really sided with far-left environmentalist groups and the radical Green New Deal, instead of just common sense energy policy ... that we need.
“By the way, the loss of jobs is significant, as well as continuing to develop made-in-America natural resources. Nobody wants to go back to the ‘70s when we were dependent on the Middle East for oil. Those were dark days, and the future is so much brighter because of American energy innovation.
His interviewer in a Heritage Foundation podcast Virginia Allen asked:
“Does Haaland have a response for these arguments, that actually the Keystone pipeline is one of the most environmentally-friendly ways to transport oil?
Daines replied:
“You know, Virginia, there is no response to that. The data’s very compelling, and the need for energy infrastructure across our country is so important.
“It’s kind of ironic. When you hear from President Biden and my colleagues across the aisle, they are all pro-infrastructure. Well, pipelines are a really important part of our infrastructure in this nation, and again, it’s the most environmentally sound way and efficient way to transport liquids and gases.
“So it’s puzzling, but I think it tells you, Virginia, that it’s not really based on the science. This is based on an ideology that’s going to neglect the science and the data to drive this ‘keep everything in the ground’ philosophy of the left.”
