Leftists don’t hate America, itself; just us

The actions and words of some leading members of the “progressive” layer of the Democratic Party may cause some to think they hate America. We don’t think that is the case. They just hate those (like a majority of Oklahomans and other heartland residents) who stand in the way of them ruling the country the way they want to. There is a lot to love about America as it is – freedom: individual rights to own property, speak your mind, possess the means to protect yourself, worship as you deem appropriate, rich resources (especially those resources that could make anyone controlling them extremely wealthy – even wealthier than getting multi-billion payoffs from China, if you happen to be the son of a former vice president). It seems reasonable, considering the actions of many of the left, that they would find coal, oil and gas much less a threat to humanity if they controlled it. As it is, they cuss energy for “destroying the environment,” while jetting around the world to spread their message, such as Al Gore…. and many others who are in government today. It is interesting how so many federal politicians have become extremely wealthy on government salaries, which don’t pay that well. The national media thinks a majority of Americans are ignorant or stupid (or both), so stupid that they believe the fake news they report in support of their pals in government. The Free Press Foundation, which we support, points out the incestuous relationship between the major media and government and many big businesses. It points out that six corporations (CBS, Disney, GE, Newscorp, Time Warner, and Viacom) control 90% of American media. These billion-dollar enterprises publish content for nearly 300 million Americans daily. It’s silly to pretend that these businesses are ambivalent to government policy. To the contrary-they are highly invested in government policy and are determined to have government work on their behalf. Perhaps this explains the disproportionate number of corporate media talking heads who once worked for government.

Holdup on sending impeachment articles to Senate

The Impeachment leaders in the House of Representatives may have shot themselves in the foot with the decision to hold up sending the articles to the Senate. Harvard law professor, Noah Feldman, who testifi ed in favor of impeachment on behalf of Democrats, says that the president isn’t actually impeached until the two articles are sent to the Senate. Failure to send them would blow a hole in the Dems’ public relations-campaign gambit. The whole point of spending almost a whole session on impeaching the president was to make him unelectable if not removing him from offi ce. The argument for no impeachment until the articles are sent to the Senate goes like this: The Constitution doesn’t say how fast the articles must go to the Senate. Some modest delay is not inconsistent with the Constitution, or how both chambers usually work. But an indefinite delay would pose a serious problem. Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial. Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial. If the House doesn’t act, the president could say legitimately that he wasn’t impeached. (He probably wouldn’t do that. The president doesn’t dodge a fight and he figures the impeachment is helping him more than hurting his chances for re-election.)

Sick of the Nonsense

It appears Americans outside of Washington, D.C., California and a few other lefty enclaves are thoroughly sick of the circus. Columnist-lawyer-author Kurt Schlichter suggests letting the Democrats “Schiff (as in impeachment manager Adam) themselves.” He writes: “Military guys – and I am a graduate of the Army War College, which is not the one with noted expert on expertise Tom Nichols – try to abide by the apocryphal advice of Napoleon, who counseled that you should never interrupt your enemy while he is making a mistake. The Democrats have surely mis-read the attitude of the nation today. To this point, only far-left candidates have appeared to challenge for the presidency. None of them has a ghost’s chance of winning.
