Letter to the Editor ‘No’ on Trump

By

Gary, You and I have been friends and neighbors for about 50 years. Thank you and Richard Reynolds for saving our city government from going broke a few years ago when we had a city manager who was spending a lot more than our revenue. Job well done.

As a moderate Republican, our views differ politically.

I did not vote for King Donald because: 1. I don’t trust him 2. He filed for bankruptcy 6 times 3. He paid two women $150,000 for their silence 4. He wants to be king instead of president 5. He does not abide by our federal constitution 6. He is a convicted felon 7. He wants to punish those who have different viewpoints than his 8. I’m very disappointed in his choices for top cabinet positions 9. He is very negative to our allies I do agree with some of the things he is trying to do. I disagree with his methods.

1. Close our southern borders to those who are not legally here. Deport the illegals. It seems to me he is deporting many who are legally here.

2. Reduce government spending. He is trying to do too much too soon. Why not call in all the heads of the departments and tell them their budgets will be cut 5% each year for the next 4 years? This will be a 20% reduction in 4 years.

3. Leave Canada and Greenland alone. They do not want to be part of the U.S.

4.Tariff rates need to be adjusted, no doubt. You need to have a thought-out plan. What is their tariff rate to us? Adjust our rate accordingly.

5.King Donald is right concerning membership dues to NATO and the U.N. Members need to pay what they agreed to when they joined or relinquish their membership.

6. The Big Beautiful Bill was passed by Congress, which will raise our national debt even more.

7. Where are we on improving our economy? At least he knows there is a problem and he will try to fix it.

Can the far right wing politically always be right and the left wing always wrong. I think not but how do we find a middle ground. We must move forward. Quit being critical of the opposition all the time, It does not matter whose idea it is as long as it is good for our people.

To our senators and representatives, I ask you to do the right thing. Quit worrying about re-election and do the right thing for our citizens.

Respectfully, Kenneth Glazier
