License was easier to get when offline
I successfully obtained my senior citizens lifetime hunting/fishing license yesterday.
I learned a couple of days ago that the only way to get one is by going online with a computer to make the request and fill out the forms.
Then after a day or two the State sent me an email, indicating my request had been approved.
Then I had to get online again to pay, using a credit card.
Then you immediately print out your license with a printer connected to the computer.
So, all of this took me 3 days and two trips to the local library, nine miles away and a lot of help from a very nice girl born in 1991, who is a whiz with computers, since I know absolutely zero about how to operate a computer.
Life was so much easier and better back when I could just drive to the nearest feed store, plunk down $25 and walk out a few minutes later with a license in my pocket.
Oh, and finally, the State required an extra $3 fee from me, because my transaction was done online. (Which, by the way, is the only possible way to do that transaction.)
