Mail-in voting not a problem; it’s that mail-out part where the fraud problem is
It’s not the mail-in voting that presents a problem but the mail-out voting. Absentee voting in Oklahoma and other states
Absentee voting in Oklahoma and other states has been going on successfully since as long as we remember.
It has worked because the voters must request a ballot by mail and return the voted ballot by mail while following certain other procedures that guarantee that only qualified people (actual citizens) are voting.
It’s not that hard.
Under the Vote by Mail scheme being touted by the left, using the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to do away with traditional elections, ballots would be mailed expansively – better too many than too few.
This would open the path for massive election fraud.
We can almost hear it now. One newly-minted progressive college graduate says to his friend:
“Hey, I’ve just thought of a new way to milk the government (that would be taxpayers, of course).
We can use the new vote-by-mail proposal to make a bundle. When they send out the ballots for the presidential election, we’ll just check around and find out who’s paying the most for our vote, mark it and let them send it. We won’t even have to pay for the stamp.”
“Besides, the government may send out thousands of extras, like to dead people, addresses where the residents have moved, even to family pets. You did hear of that case where a cat got a ballot addressed to her, right? This could be a bonanza.
“Yeah, we could check all the vacant house mail boxes for ballots and there’s undoubtedly some ward-heeler who has a bunch of spare ballots. There was even one Facebook posting of a woman holding five mailed ballots, which she got by sending in five different versions of her name – just to show how easy it is to game the system.
“What a deal.
“Next, they’ll pay us for not rioting.
“Isn’t the new America great?!
“Everything’s gonna be free. All we have to do is be smart enough to ask for it.”
“But,” says his friend. “Isn’t that dishonest and illegal?”
“Nah, it’s just dumb old conservatives who care about those things,” the first newly-minted government-sourcing entrepreneur responds.
“Besides, if the right guy (not from the right, mind you, but the one the leftist media is backing) wins, no one will care or check.”
“The wise guys are saying that there are checks on the system that will prevent fraud – like requesting ballots over the internet; you know that’s foolproof, right?
“Also, the labor union that just endorsed Joe Biden will be responsible for the handling, custody and delivery of the ballots.”
“Well, then. Let’s do it,” says the friend. “ I could use the money to pay on my college debt. But couldn’t someone just send us the cash first – like say, $1,000 per ballot?” “No” the first responds, “because then the po
“No” the first responds, “because then the political activist paying the cash couldn’t be sure you voted right.”
“Yeah, I see that; anyway, the postal service says it’s not safe to send cash in the mail,” says the second guy.
“Do you think this will work?” speaker No. 2 asks.
“It’s worth a try,” No. 1 replies. “We’ve got to get rid of this antiquated system – there’s too much freedom for the uneducated masses – people who don’t have a degree, not like us.”
For conservatives who are concerned about illegal voting, the left assures that if they see what they consider fraudulent voter activities they can present evidence regarding a particular race to the election board or file a lawsuit in a local court.
Wow. What a relief?
Besides the progressive-leaning Brennan Center for Justice at New York University says there is no evidence that mail balloting increases electoral fraud.
And even more assuring, the national media also assures us it’s on the up-and up.
