New jeans are uncompromising

New jeans are uncompromising

Aboard meeting was the excuse I needed to get out of my COVID every day and night jogging pants.

New jeans!

Dark blue in a pile of old pants, and still had price tags, so I decided to break them in.

They were long, instead of my regular length, and that sent me to the closet for boots.

It had been more than a year since I’d clothes shopped, and it was a treat when I slipped into the new crisp, and still-creased blue jeans.

As I pulled them up they hit a snag at my thighs, and came to a complete halt at my buttocks.

I’d had pants shrink in the dryer, but not brand new jeans.

They were stiff as a board as I gave them a few more tugs, then I jumped and jiggled for 10 minutes until I got them almost up to my waist.

You’d have thought I’d been ironing all day the way my arms hurt

When I sat down the jeans relaxed.

It was war!

Laying on the bed wouldn’t have worked, so I stood up, pulled them up more and more until I finally wrangled them into submission.

I walked around to show them who was boss, flexed my legs, and even bent over several times to stretch them out.

It seemed to work, so I sat down to put on my boots and was grateful for the elastic waistband.

My ego and timing caused me to wear them to that meeting, but when I got home I peeled them off, and found some old, comfy, relaxed fit jeans.

They were almost as difficult to get on as the new ones, but didn’t cut off my circulation.

Apparently my COVID diet of baking, and eating, three peach cobblers a week, has done my figure a terrible injustice. But on the plus side, I have lots of jogging pants that fit, wonders for my digestive system.

Momma Adele’s Cobbler: Empty large can of sliced peaches in glass baking dish. Mix 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 3 teaspoons baking powder, dash of salt. Cut in 3 tablespoons cold butter and add to dry ingredients. After mixed, add one cup milk, and stir. Pour mixture down middle of peaches (it will spread). Bake 350 degrees 35-45 minutes.
