The publication breaks it down by several popular food and drink items this way:

Bacon (one pound) - retail $4; farmer 71 cents;

Top sirloin steak (one pound) - retail $9.99; fanner $1.72.

Bread (2 lbs.) – Retail $3.99; farmer 12 cents.

Fresh carrots (5 lbs.) - Retail $3.99; farmer $2.12.

Beer (6-pack cans) – Retail $9.99; farmer five cents.

Cereal (18 oz. box) – Retail $3.49; farmer five cents.

Tomatoes (one pound) – Retail $2.99; farmer 83 cents.

Eggs (one dozen) Retail $1.79; farmer 82 cents.

Flour (five pounds) Retail $2.99; farmer $1.09.

Boneless ham Retail farmer 71 cents.

Lettuce (one pound) - Retail $2.99; Fanner 58 cents.

Milk (one gallon, fat free) - Retail $3.49; Fanner $1.83.

Fresh apples (one pound) - Retail $1.99; Farmer 70 cents.

Fresh potatoes (five pounds, Russet) - Retail $1.19; fanner five cents.

Soda (two liters) - Retail $1.19; Fanner five cents.

The article adds that according to the USDA, off-farm costs including marketing, processing, wholesaling, distribution and retailing account for 80 cents of every food dollar spent in the United States.

A PostScript said the farmer shares were taken from USDA and NASS agricultural prices and the retail prices are based on Safeway brands as of November 2020 data.

The article reminds us of a conversation with a U.S. House member several years ago who said that no farm program (with support prices) was possible without the votes of urban legislators in compromise packages. The urban congresspersons would accept some farm support prices in order to get rural votes for legislation providing federal food programs for indigents.

Biden most cognitively challenged president in history

President Biden’s handlers gave citizens a peek at his failing mental faculties in a recent CNN townhall segment Biden revealed that he is an apologist for China’s tyrannical government, calling China’s brutal internment of the Uighur population merely a “different norm.”

Biden also said he would not “speak out” against China’s brutal crackdown on the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.

Asked about his recent conversation with Chinese supreme leader Xi Jinping, Biden started his response by relaying Xi’s justification for the communist nation’s brutal human rights abuses.

He added:

“If you know anything about Chinese history, it has always been, the time when China has been victimized by the outer world is when they haven’t been unified at home,” Biden began. “So the central — well, vastly overstated — the central principle of Xi Jinping is that there mustbe a united, tightly controlled China. And he uses his rationale for the things he does based on that.”

The Uighurs are Muslim.

It has been observed over and over again that communism abhors religion because it places another power above government.

One has to wonder what group Biden might want to eradicate in the U.S., if he follows China’s lead. Christianity, perhaps?

Christians did vote overwhelmingly for President Trump. Leftists have been working to identify Christians as an anarchist group with the help of their pals in the mainstream media for some time.

Biden went on to add: “China is trying very hard to become the world leader. And to get that moniker and be able to do that, they have to gain the confidence of other countries. And as long as they are engaged in activity that is contrary to basic human rights, it’s going to be hard for them to do that. But it’s much more complicated than that, I shouldn’t try to talk China policy in 10 minutes on television here.”

Americans might ask “Who does Biden think he’s representing?”

It gets worse.

When Biden is removed by his leftist handlers, he will be replacedby Kamala Harris, an ardent leftist as a senator, who doesn’t qualify for the job constitutionally. She is not a natural-born American. Her father is a Jamaican and her mother was born in India.

According to Article II of the U.S. Constitution, the president must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years old, and have been a resident of the United States for 14 years.

Christians must pray for the restoration of their country and for the current administration to come to its senses.

America was born on Christian principles, which still dominate its social fabric.
