Sanders focusing on movement, revolution

Democrat-Independent-Socialist Bernie Sanders let it be known after the Democratic Party shot him out of the saddle once again as its nominee for president that his candidacy was really about a movement – for socialism, of course.

There was never much of a chance of Bernie being elected president.

It seemed to us that Bernie was primarily working to make socialism a more acceptable term in the political realm.

Our favorite television preacher, Dr. David Jeremiah, senior pastor of the Shadow Mountain Church in California and the founder and host of “Turning Point,” a daily radio show and also a television show seen on the Christian TV network, has some thoughts on socialism which he explained in a column in Townhall.

Dr. David Jeremiah warns “Beware”

He wrote:

“Christians in the United States should not underestimate the potential consequences of the present, national fascination with socialism. Socialism was creeping into American life already, but now it is the policy du jour of the persistent senator from Vermont who stands very possibly as the Democratic nominee for president, Bernie Sanders.

Defined as political and economic theory that favors government control and regulation, socialism has a dark history.

In 1848, the Communist Manifesto written by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels was published. This radical political document advocated for a socialist revolution between classes, with the working classes becoming conquerors. The manifesto was popular for its rallying cry, “Workers of the world, unite!” Recently, the world witnessed this call to action as the co-director for “American Factory,” the first-ever film produced by President Obama’s new production house, enthusiastically quoted this line during her acceptance speech at the 92nd Academy Awards.

But this ideology has proven time and again to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing as communist revolutions around the world have produced dark, oppressed societies that do not support freedom of religion, or really any freedom at all. As he crisscrosses the nation, Senator Sanders has consistently labeled his political campaign “a revolution.”

“Although there are certainly differences between socialism and communism, many Marxists are transparent in their vision of socialism as a gateway to rejecting capitalism, welcoming communism, and suppressing religion. Dr. Jack Graham, my good friend and senior pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, exercised his own pointed concern with our nation’s future recently when he wrote, “Socialism is fundamentally at odds with the Christian worldview and seeks to repress all peoples in support of the state.” He went on, “no one serious about their Christian faith can be serious about supporting socialism.”

Christianity Does Not Support Socialism

Later on, Jeremiah adds:

“Some clever politicians have tried to deceive well-meaning Christians by suggesting that the Bible itself advocates for socialism because of passages like Luke 3:22, where Jesus tells us, “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.” Yet, theirs is an errant theology.

“It’s clear from this and many other passages throughout that Bible that Christ has called us to be generous with our neighbors and with those in need as a matter of individual choice not as the result of coercion (by the government or anyone else).

Who Would Govern If Biden Were Elected?

The virtual elimination of Sanders from the race for the Democrat nomination makes us wonder who would actually govern if Biden should be elected given Biden’s obvious loss of cognitive ability.

The campaign has demonstrated Biden’s lack of perception and memory.

Would Barack Obama, under whom Biden served as vice-president, be called back into service by the deep state?

Or leftist billionaire George Soros who influenced the Obama presidency so extensively or Bill Clinton? or a team of deep state shadow governors (a junta)?

Liberal Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz who commented on the flimsy House impeachment charges against President Donald Trump and later defended the president against corporate media’s criticisms about the president’s comments on Justice Department actions.

The Daily Wire recently had a piece on that subject:

“There was a lot of White House control of the Justice Department during the Kennedy administration and I don’t think we saw very many liberal professors arguing against that,” Dershowitz told Breitbart News. “I have some information as well about the Obama administration – which will be disclosed in a lawsuit at some point, but I’m not prepared to disclose it now – about how President Obama personally asked the FBI to investigate somebody on behalf of George Soros, who was a close ally of his.”

Is anyone surprised by that? Dershowitz was then pressed about what he was talking about in regard to Obama and Soros but he said he wasn’t quite ready to go there because he hadn’t filed the case yet, he said it was going to come out in a lawsuit in the future. Dershowitz said he had the 302 form, “which documents this issue,” and that it would come out at the right time. A 302 form refers to the forms the FBI uses when they interview witnesses in a case.

Correction

Thanks to Rodney Heinrich for correcting an error we made in a recent column about the book of Daniel in the Old Testament. We foolishly relied on memory and wrote that the ruse by other satraps to destroy Daniel, who was putting them all to shame with his excellent administration of the Babylonian kingdom occurred earlier than the famed “Handwriting on the Wall” event. It actually occurred after that while Darius served as king.

We always appreciate corrections when we make a mistake. One of the worst things we can do is put out wrong information. The very worst thing is to let it go uncorrected. Rodney correctly points out that Chapters 5 and 6 of Daniel provides the straight “scoop” on the events.

You might want to read it yourself.

Such Bible stories indicate mankind has not changed a lot in the last 2000 years.

Thanks again, Rodney.

Keep us headed in the right direction.
