Left off and running (again) after ‘disappointing report’
You have to hand it to the Left; it never quits.
After the Mueller report was issued clearing the Trump presidency of collusion with Russia in the 2016 election, leftist Democrats immediately went on the rampage, indicating they will continue their campaign to oust President Trump.
They undoubtedly knew before the report came out there was no basis for the 22-month, $40 million investigation into the election; that there was no illegal or unethical activity during the campaign, except Hillary Clinton’s use of Democrat Party machinery to destroy Vermont Democratic-Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders’ threat to her campaign.
Former Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wassermann Schultz resigned as a result of her collusion with Clinton to rig the Democratic presidential primaries for Clinton against Sanders.
(A federal judge later dismissed a class action law suit, alleging violations of the DNC charter by Wasserman Schultz, essentially ruling, as we understand it, that while the complaints were true, the court had no authority to intervene in political backroom deals.)
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, i.e. the House of Representatives, Democrats who are now in the majority are planning their next moves to take down President Trump.
Trump, in his usual rambunctious style, tweeted immediately after the announcement that the report had been submitted to the attorney general who said there were no actionable findings, that he had been absolved of any wrongdoing.
“Wrong! claim the leftists, you got elected – and we still hate you.”
Well, that was not their exact words but that’s the inference we got from their comments.
So congressional Democrats have launched their next attack designed to prevent Trump’s administration from sidelining their eventual goal of turning the United States of America into the United Socialist States of America (USSA). They are probably honest in their notion that only they are smart enough to rule.
Key Democrats say they aren’t satisfied with the findings of the Mueller report, despite the work by the special counsel’s team of 19 lawyers and 40 FBI agents, which conducted 500 interviews, issued 2,800 subpoenas, and executed 500 search warrants.
Here’s what they want:
• Release of the full Mueller report.
Fair enough. Everybody interested enough to read the multi-million dollar investment of tax money should be able to do so.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Sunday that Congress “requires” the full report.
“Attorney General Barr’s letter raises as many questions as it answers,” Pelosi said in a prepared statement. “The fact that Special Counsel Mueller’s report does not exonerate the president on a charge as serious as obstruction of justice demonstrates how urgent it is that the full report and underlying documentation be made public without any further delay.”
Some Republicans, too, called for release of the full report, or as much as possible under regulations designed to protect grand jury proceedings and the rights of those not charged with crimes.
“Absolutely. I think the report needs to be made public,” Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “It needs to be released to the Congress and it needs to be released to the American people. This has consumed two years of the American people’s time, and we need full transparency.”
• Testimony of the Attorney General.
There they hope to trip him up and continue to cloud the issue. (It’s not likely to happen.)
Now that the collusion issue has been resolved in the president’s favor, they want to find an “obstruction of justice” theme tune they can play through the 2020 presidential election. We have to admit that President Trump did obstruct their plans for “deplorables.” That’s Hillary’s term for anyone that doesn’t agree with her.
• More Examination of Collusion.
Two years of collusion between government leftists and a national media to destroy the presidency of duly-elected President Trump obviously was not enough. They need to appear more with smirking heads on TV talk shows to convince Americans that they were right and we are wrong. Note: the national media has lost all credibility because of its left-wing bias. The big media has lost the public’s confidence as seekers of truth.
• Impeachment
Rep. Adam Smith, D-Calif., who has turned himself into a laughing stock with his rant of out-of-control comments, says impeachment is not off the table.
Who didn’t know that? That has been the plan since Democrats took control of the House.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-California), a founding member of the “Never Trump” cabal, said the Mueller findings are inconsequential. Some psychiatrist must have been looking directly into Water’s eyes when he/she diagnosed the disease Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
(Waters must not understand that Mueller and his team were not friends of the president – anything but. If they had found the tiniest wrongdoing that would have led the report.)
Waters adds:
“This is not the end of anything. Well, it is the end of the report and the investigation by Mueller, but … there is so much that needs to be taken a look at at this point. It is not the end of everything.”
This investigation has served one important purpose. Any doubt about the Left’s intent has been erased.
Now when does the investigation of Hillary misdoings begin? Former President Obama also was complicit in the use of government staffers for illegal government actions during the 2016 election. A study of those could prove ver-r-r-y interesting.
