President Trump gets two court victories
The U.S. Supreme Court handed President Trump two major victories last week in his battle against lawfare by leftist-dominated federal courts.
One ruling vindicated Trump’s authority to deport foreign gang members.
Gone are these invaders who flourished by means of murder, rape, trafficking women and selling fentanyl – a drug that’s already claimed hundreds of thousands, likely more, Americans.
Most satisfying to most conservatives was the reprimand that the court gave – to the U.S. District Judge James Boasberg who blocked the president’s use of the Enemies Alien Act, written by early president James Adams – to remove the miscreants.
Judges appointed by previous Democrat presidents are the primary weapon of the Democratic leftists to fight against the Trump administration.
The second Trump win came when the court blocked a lower court’s ruling requiring the White House to reinstate the 16,000 probationary workers it terminated earlier this year.
This means the White House does not have to bring back the employees it fired as part of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative. The Supreme Court’s ruling suggested that the nonprofit groups that filed the lawsuit might not have legal standing to sue the administration.
Kevin McCullough, nationally-syndicated radio talk show host, explained in a column he wrote on Townhall. com that these aren’t just Trump wins but wins for national security, as well as reducing an out-of-control bloated federal bureaucracy.
Trump is battling for the working man and woman who don’t live in gated complexes and are worried about the future of their nation and the freedoms they treasure.
It is interesting that Trump is completing a make-over of the nation’s political climate. Remember when the Democrats had a headlock on the notion they supported working people?
McCullough adds this additional bit of historical context: “Remember how Democrats clutched their pearls, insisting that Trump was some kind of dictator for using every legal tool available to him? Remember how they screamed that he was trampling the Constitution by enforcing the law — as written — to remove violent criminals who shouldn’t have been here in the first place?
“Turns out, he was following the law to the letter. The same law, by the way, that Abraham Lincoln invoked during the Civil War and that FDR used during World War II. And you know what Lincoln, FDR, and Trump all have in common? They used executive authority for the protection of the American people. Period.”
Does domestication dumb everything down?
I read an article recently (I can’t remember where) that claimed domestication causes animals to lose intelligence.
In the wild, survival is each critter’s primary instinct and those that don’t learn how to survive do not procreate.
I have also read elsewhere that most predators are only one meal away from starvation. (I don’t know how they determined that – maybe studied the stomach contents of dead ones?)
I thought that diagnosis might apply to humans as well. When people survive on government payments rather than by their own efforts, might they not become less interested in trying to meet their needs by personal effort (i.e. dumber)?
Historically speaking, most nations survive about 200 years.
Even the most successful ones – when freedom is a key ingredient – are subject to failure when opportunistic individuals gain control of the government by offering free money to individuals (in order to keep voting them into power.)
The people receiving their needs free don’t work or maybe even think about the effects of their actions on others.
It works fine for the freeby recipients until the government goes broke by borrowing money to keep the payola coming, from which the elite take their share as payment for keeping the good times rolling.
How else can you explain members of Congress, for instance – maybe even a past president – becoming multi-millionaires on limited government salaries?
These are problems President Trump is attempting to correct with efforts to stop the waste that has been uncovered by DOGE in the U.S. government.
He is working to keep America a great country in its third century of existence by prioritizing jobs for middle class by bringing jobs and manufacturing back to America.
There is an added benefit to this effort: It will keep American citizens safer by not having to depend on foreign countries to produce the products and materials to protect citizens.
While Democrats are raging against Trump for working to return sensible governance to the U.S., I’m thinking he’s on the right track and is tough enough to win.
Also remember this: President Trump doesn’t accept the presidential salary and has spent millions of his own money to defend himself – and other normal people – from the attacks against honest government.
