Nancy Hasenfratz; top volunteer remembered
The recent funeral of Mrs. Wayne (Nancy) Hasenfratz was truly a celebration of a life well lived.
Mrs. Hasenfratz, who was known locally as Kingfisher’s chief volunteer for good works, affected an area far extended from Kingfisher.
She was known for helping those who needed help and especially loved to help children.
A musician with outstanding talent, one of her projects for many years was helping young band members learn to play their instruments.
She was a member of Kingfisher’s Federated church, where her funeral was held with a packed sanctuary, but I recall the years she volunteered to help the band kids at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church school.
Always smiling, she seemed to believe it was an enjoyable hobby.
Nancy assisted with virtually every worthwhile project in Kingfisher, always with the same happy demeanor.
She didn’t do it to gain attention or for any personal recognition; she just loved people and helping them.
Following the service I got to meet Terry Hogan, a native of Kingfisher who now lives in Guthrie where he is a retired rural mail carrier.
Hogan recalled when he was in the military in Vietnam, he and fellow servicemen made a basketball goal using a palm tree, the rim of a barrel for the goal and something I can’t remember as a net.
They played basketball when they had breaks from duty.
Hogan sent a picture taken while playing basketbal, using the rigged-up goal, to his mother.
He told her he had to play wearing his military boots. Not long after that, Hogan said he received a new pair of sneakers from Nancy so that he wouldn’t have to wear his boots to play basketball anymore.
That was quintessential Nancy – always helping. I imagine there were dozens of similar stories told by those attending the service.
Nancy and Wayne’s son, Bob, and daughter, Sally, told personal stories of their mother’s love for family and the lengths she went to make special days for each of them.
They also told of her deep love for God and their church. It was a beautiful service and a fitting tribute to one of Kingfisher’s finest. R.I.P.
Kirk’s Christian Revival May Have Already Begun I wrote a week or so ago that I hoped that Charlie Kirk could start a nationwide Christian revival.
Our nation was founded on Christian principles – honesty, integrity, kindness, morality and forgiveness.
The founders warned us that the representative government they handed us was made only for a moral people.
It may well be that Kirk’s tragic assassination may have ignited that revival, although it’s hard to recognize in the Virginia elections where death threats are flying against conservative candidates.
That’s not too surprising; the Leftist radicals are becoming more brazen as their desire for permanent control of American citizens falls to pieces.
Tom DeWeese, president of American Policy Center, commented in a recent letter: “The Charlie Kirk murder exposed one very specific fact. We are not dealing with confused Democrats who simply have bad ideas. Finally, people are beginning to see the evil forces that you and I have been warning about. They have an agenda that is designed to destroy our society of freedom, and they will go to any extreme to win.
“The targets are national sovereignty, representative government, private property rights, energy, privatelyowned transportation, private housing choices, the money supply, and our rights to even mention God in a public building.”
DeWeese adds that these Leftist forces are not confused and they’re not quitting.
(Me) However, they’re scared, which makes them even more radical and dangerous. We may not have seen “nuthin yet.”
It is imperative for American citizens to be fully aware of the danger and prepare to promote and vote for sensible, conservative candidates.
Charlie Kirk and his Turning Point USA organization, went to campuses inviting debates with students brainwashed with Leftist ideas by faculty and mainstream media, which can no longer be counted on to simply tell the truth but has become a faction of the radical socialists in our midst.
The Left is determined to force the United States into a globalist system dominated by Leftists who will call the shots on every matter.
Former citizens will be replaced by subjects if the Left is successful.
President Trump spoke to ambassadors at the United Nations, apparent proponents of the globalists’ plan, and advised them they are doomed.
In what appeared to be a childish trick, the escalators and the sound system, quit working for Trump’s appearance. (Time for the UN to leave the U.S.?)
Trump spoke anyway and advised them “If you don’t get away from this green scam, your country is going to fail.” (Good advice.)
