Does the president never sleep?
I wonder if President Trump ever sleeps. I don’t know how he would have time.
The Middle East peace deal cements his record as the Peace President, even if the Nobel Peace Prize went to a Venezuelan, Maria Corina Machado.
She must be a fine person to be selected by the Norwegian Nobel Committee. The honor will be presented at a ceremony on Dec. 10 in Oslo, Norway.
Ms. Machado (I looked her up on the Internet) is a leader of the Venezuelan opposition to the governments of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro, which is certainly a worthy effort.
I seem to remember that Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize shortly after his election as president. I never figured out what he did to deserve it. Did he happen to bring peace to the Middle East and I just missed it?
Oh, yeah, he thinks like most Europeans. Now we know why Europe is slipping down the sink.
I’m presuming the Norwegians didn’t know about President Trump’s really big Middle East peace agreement. That’s certainly possible if they expected the major media to give it much credence, at least without some slurs attached.
Columnist Terry Paulson suggests that Trump’s Middle East Peace Deal will go down as the most pivotal moment in Middle East history.
What if it’s the biggest in world history? Also, it’s just the eighth peace settlement since Trump got the reins.
Heck, even people around the world are cheering about it, especially the Israeli hostages who survived two years of brutal (oops, loving) treatment at the hands of the terrorist captors and are seeing their loved ones again.
And to think the major media is still pretending that the Palestinians were the victims in the two-year war they kicked off with the Oct. 7, 2023, murderous attack on Israel during a holiday.
Paulson lists 11 reasons Trump was able to make peace possible started with this: 1. Any accomplishment like this starts with a strong personal commitment to make change happen. After surviving his attempted assassination, he has repeatedly made comments suggesting that God spared his life because there is more work for him to do. This theme has been a recurring part of his public remarks and fundraising messages since the shooting. What greater purpose could there be than Middle East peace.
2. Trump watched President Joe Biden diminish America’s standing in the world. He wanted to return respect for our country and for the presidency. He promised to end wars, stop the killing of innocents, and bring peace to the Middle East and Ukraine. He had already negotiated peace in many conflicts, but none were more important than the one he shepherded on Monday.
3. To pressure Hamas, Trump offered continued U.S. support to Israel and IDF forces who had surrounded Gaza City. He let Hamas know that they must accept peace or he would support Israel’s final plan to eliminate Hamas by force.
4. Trump’s renewed focus on peace through strength and his willingness to kill terrorist leaders and launch Operation Hammer to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities showed Hamas leaders that he was not afraid to use our own military might.
5. Trump was wise enough to reject the call for Palestinian statehood knowing that to do so would end any chance of Israel’s support for any peace plan.
6. Trump used tariff negotiations to provide added incentives for Arab countries to cooperate with the peace plan. He fueled a positive vision of economic opportunity that garnered support from many in the region.
7. Trump’s soft diplomacy had begun the process of selling many countries on supplying the security forces to bring order and stability to the people of Gaza and ensure the removal of Hamas control.
8. Trump put together a great team. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and negotiators Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were encouraged and empowered to deliver results. He made sure they were also recognized for their critical work.
9. Trump has built world support for a prosperous, peaceful vision of what Gaza can be and is working with world leaders to provide the funds and support to make it happen.
10. Trump has been and continues to work with Arab countries and Israel to sign onto the Abraham Accord ensuring the security of Israel, a Board of Peace to help Gaza, and the dawn of a new Middle East.
11. Finally, Trump is not a typical politician. He is a businessman who knows how to negotiate, think big, and deliver results instead of just making empty promises during campaigns. He is a man of action who knows the importance of delivering on his promises.
Paulson recalled former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir’s words from decades ago, “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”
Paulson is a PhD psychologist, professional speaker and author of “The Optimism Advantage” and a new political novel, “The Summit.”
Another Townhall.com columnist Kurt Schlichter calls the Trump masterpiece a total surrender by a regime (Gazans) that hid behind women and children to wage a war that totally failed.
How strange that so many in the West, including many on American college campuses, used the war as an opportunity to use their anti-Semitic jeers to the utmost.
Note: Israel used every tool available to warn Gazan residents about their attacks on the terrorists who hid behind, hospitals, school and other such non-military facilities and still the haters worldwide attempted to paint the Israelis as the perpetrators while also claiming the Israelis were not the legal owners of their nation.
Could it be that the Gazans’ hatred of the Jews is sheer jealousy because Israel has turned its tiny piece of desert into into “a land of milk and honey” while Gazans have spent all their money on weapons of destruction and live in slums.
Maybe now under the Trump peace plan they can enjoy some of the better things in life.
One can hope for continuing peace in the region, but is that really possible? The terrorists immediately started murdering their own people as collaborators as they came out of their hiding places with the new peace announcement.
The American Left hopes the peace deal fails, of course. When did it ever work for something positive?
