Recipe for disaster
When I want a clear-headed, accurate opinion on a subject, I always go to Victor Davis Hanson, the classicist historian long-time fixture at Stanford University, who continues to live on the family almond farm in California.
It’s my opinion that the closer people are to the soil, the wiser they are, including those with doctorates.
I also keep up with articles in The Daily Signal, the publication founded by The Heritage Foundation.
Recently the Daily Signal staff provided the following piece on leftist Democrat leaders’ plan for America written by Hanson. It follows:
‘RECIPE FOR DISASTER’: Victor Davis Hanson Reveals Democrats’ Dark Plan (Daily Signal Staff)
Victor Davis Hanson painted a dire picture of America’s descent into chaos during a Fox News interview … just hours after an Afghan national shot two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C.
Hanson, a Daily Signal senior contributor and Hoover Institution senior fellow, told guest interviewer Kellyanne Conway that left-wing leaders have systematically undermined law enforcement and constitutional order.
The renowned historian pointed to a disturbing pattern during Donald Trump’s presidency, starting when “retired generals came out and said, he should be removed, the sooner the better.” Hanson cited the chairman of the joint chiefs’ contacting his Chinese People’s Liberation Army counterpart. And he noted, most recently, the six Democrat lawmakers who told members of the U.S. military “you can decide … what’s legal and not legal, and act accordingly to your own wishes.”
“A recipe for disaster,” Hanson warned. “A kind of a perfect storm.”
Hanson connected this insubordination to current immigration enforcement battles. “We had Gov. [JB] Pritzker, Gov. [Gavin] Newsom, Nancy Pelosi … all saying that state and local law enforcement would confront ICE, and that was anti-constitutional,” he explained.
The result? Hanson said that criminals believe “nothing is going to happen to me.”
In the wake of (the) shooting of two National Guardsmen in the nation’s capital, Hanson said this breakdown of societal norms has created “a recipe for an ungodly tragedy.”
When asked why Democrats coddle criminals while vilifying law enforcement, Hanson offered a stark assessment: “I don’t think they have a message or an agenda that people favor, so they have to cause total chaos.”
He suggested Democrats believe voters will “get into a fetal position and say make it all go away.”
Hanson argued that Democrats can’t win on the issues “so they have to create chaos, the violence, the Tesla dealerships ... burned, the smutty videos” to generate systemic disruption. He compared it to 2020’s COVID lockdowns, which he said Democrats weaponized against Trump’s “really brilliant first term.”
Hanson warned this violence and chaos “is going to keep happening, unfortunately,” as millions of illegal immigrants and prematurely released criminals roam free in American communities.
••• It is discouraging to see a political party in a once peaceful and safe nation going all out to join other leftists in seeking to pull the nation into a one-world system ruled by politicians who consider themselves above the crowd and the billionaires who obviously feel that they will continue to pull the strings to gain greater wealth.
The 2026 elections will tell the story of America’s future.
If the socialist Democrat faction is successful in regaining control of Congress, it will pull out all stops to destroy the fairest government in the history of the world.
Chaos and confusion is an age-old roadmap to confuse people and allow the power-seekers to take total control.
The Left’s plans to take permanent control in 2024 were frustrated when President Trump was elected as president. Citizens nationwide repudiated their plans.
While infuriated at the loss, the Left immediately went into crisis mode, using tricks they previously installed in the federal institutions to foil Trump’s efforts to save America and its freedoms.
Hanson also observes that Europe is experiencing “civilization erasure” now due to the massive Muslim migration.
Pictures Don’t Always Tell the Whole Story
Kingfisher Times & Free Press Editor Michael Swisher recently received word he’d won a statewide newspaper photo contest. It was of KHS softball Coach Morgan Dutton with her thumb and index finger under the jaw of freshman pitcher Kennedy Stewart.
It might have looked like the coach was berating her. But the cutline underneath cleared it up. “I told you, you could do it,” Coach Dutton said, praising her for working out of a jam by forcing a double play in a game against Bethany. Stewart pitched a shutout later in the week against Woodward.
Swisher is a fixture at county school athletic events, giving local students the recognition they deserve.
Congratulations, Michael; great photo; great job.
