Kingfisher, Okarche streets improved
Good progress is being made on the S.H 33-U.S. 81 intersection project in Kingfisher and also on the Okarche Main Street project.

Both projects will provide long-term upgrades for the communities.

It would be interesting to watch the contractor pour the concrete for the street work. Dealing with such a large project would take extensive know-how. (We say this because of our own experience in pouring and finishing [helping a son] lay concrete in a small garage floor once upon a time – exhausting.)

Why Trump doesn't send in the troops
The rioting and killing in U.S. cities has some people asking why President Trump hasn’t sent in federal troops to quell the anarchy.

The anarchy is occurring in leftist-governed cities who wouldn’t support the military action if it were ordered.

Also, in this election year, the main stream media would immediately lunge into around-the clock coverage of President Trump’s “fascist” act.

In other words, this is a trap which the president wisely refuses to spring.

Syndicated columnist, lawyer and ex-military officer Kurt Schlichter provided an insightful, thought-provoking explanation of the situation in a recent column.

He says some conservatives are frustrated because Trump doesn’t respond with federal troops to control the “Biden riots.” He writes:

“Let me share some background. After I got off active duty the first time, I joined the California Army National Guard. For the next 23 years I participated in, planned, and commanded during multiple civilian support operations. I was in the Los Angeles Riots, the Northridge Earthquake, and I commanded two battalions along with other forces in northern San Diego County during the 2007 fires. I planned ops from platoon to state headquarters level, and wrote about civil support ops in Infantry magazine and even in a first-of-its-kind law review article. So, I know a little about this stuff.

Then he explains why it’s a bad idea and conservatives should applaud the president’s patience in not jumping in:

“Democrat governors, mayors and district attorneys do not want military forces deployed and will at least refuse to cooperate with them, if not actively hinder them. That makes a blue city like Portland a ‘non-permissive environment,’ and the military is certainly designed to operate in them. That’s why when the military moves in force with, say, an infantry brigade combat team (IBCT) of 5,000 soldiers plus support elements (thousands more), we essentially deploy a small town with everything we need to survive – food, fuel, ammo, medical, maintenance, commo, power, transportation, even lawyers. Typically, in cities engulfed in chaos, it’s a permissive environment. The cops work with us. They take custody of arrestees, hold them, and the DA prosecutes them. Hospitals take in our wounded and sick. We use local government property to operate out of. We have access to the infrastructure of society. But what if the Democrat regime refuses to allow all that? Then the troops are on their own; it’s now an invasion, and while doable logistically, it takes a massive footprint.

He reviews the various “ins” and “outs” about how a military response works, commenting:

“Non-permissive environments suck, huh?” He concludes that sending in the troops would be playing right into the hands of liberal elite and its media minions, then adds:

“Let Portland and the rest of the blue cities trash themselves. Let the DOJ, which has already charged dozens of these degenerates with federal beefs, do its thing. And make sure you get out and vote straight Republican if you want any hope of this ever ending.”

Rioting not providing the poll leaps expected

An interesting sidelight to this is that the left-wing media has suddenly discovered that American citizens are not thrilled with riots in the way they expected and they’re now urging their Democrat candidates to speak out against rioting after months of encouraging rioters, either directly or implicitly.

Columnist Matt Vespa points out that non-stop rioting in the cities, especially along the Left Coast and now in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is starting to show up in the polling. “It’s the reason why Joe Biden had to come out of his bunker after the Republican National Convention; the event mentioned the rioting. It’s why CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon, who endorsed the violence, said it was now time to settle down because…it was hurting Democrats.”

It will be interesting to see if these lefty clowns can pull off the dogs after turning them loose.

Vesta also writes:

“We still have a long way to go, but with Labor Day upon us—more folks start to pay attention. If the mayhem in the streets, thanks to leftists, continues, expect more shifts across the board. Also, the economy bouncing back, and those three debates could also change the race.”
