Dumbest remark ever: ‘You didn’t make that’

One of the dumber statements I thought former Democrat President Obama made came when he claimed that businesses “didn’t make that,” referring to the owners’ businesses.

It’s hard for me to pick out just one dumb thing Obama said as the worst; there were so many.

When he said that, I thought, here’s a guy who has fed at the public trough his entire life. He’s never had to make a payroll or push aside buying something for himself so that he can use that money to keep his business afloat.

Or worked 70 or 80 hours a week to keep his business on its feet.

Obama is not stupid, but anyone who has ever worked in the business world could immediately tell that he was ignorant about what it took to make a business successful.

Of course, we’re all ignorant, just in different ways. I guess I didn’t like his snarky remark, either, about those who didn’t agree with his “progressive” agenda being rubes – my word not his – “who get bitter and cling to guns or religion.”

Obama, I assumed, was referring to working people. Many things Obama said could be construed to indicate he hated America and its success and his actions were designed to make it fail. I still think that and I wish he’d take his $70 million net worth (Money Magazine’s estimate), realized due to his political endeavors, and leave the country.

Other former presidents have had the good judgment to step back and stay out of politics once they complete their term.

Not Obama. He stays in Washington, D.C. and continues messing with our constitutional government in an attempt to destroy it.

He has lost much of his political allure following his successful efforts to remove Joe Biden from the presidential campaign earlier this year, hoping, apparently, to get another empty suit in the presidency who could be controlled by the leftist clique that has taken over the Democrat party.

Joe Biden, who learned everything he knows as Obama’s vice-president, was unelectable and Obama seemed beside himself at the thought he wouldn’t be able to continue pulling the strings in the manner of a puppeteer without his hand-picked successor in the office.

That would have made Obama’s dream come true – four terms as president.

Workers AreTrue Strength of America

I believe that America’s workers are the nation’s real strength.

They have learned to do for themselves, meeting their own needs and making more consequential decisions for themselves than have ever come out of Washington.

It reminds me of columnist-author Dennis Prager’s commentary on the Pentateuch, “ The Rational Bible,” when he suggests regarding Exodus that the Jews’ wandering 40 years after leaving 400 years of slavery in Egypt was necessary for them to learn to become more independent. They had relied on their Egyptian rulers to make every decision for them during their servitude; then had Moses in the desert.

They needed that time to learn how to become more independent and capable of running their own nation.

Moses, who gained their release, was prohibited from entering the promised land with them for mistakes he had made.

Black Churches Rap Sharpton

Black churches, representing 28 million Americans recently demanded that MSNBC fire Al Sharpton.

Why? They called for an investigation into reports that the Kamala Harris campaign paid $500,000 to Sharpton’s National Action Network, compromising the Black church and journalism.

I especially liked the ideas the church’s article provided on honest journalism. It sounded just like the lessons I got from Pauls Valley Daily Democrat Editor Ed Burchfiel in my first newspaper job.

The article continued this way: “The hiring of Rev. Sharpton, who lacks formal journalism qualifications, has been a longstanding issue within the African American community, as it seemingly undermines the professional standing of other black men and women in journalism who may possess greater experience and integrity in the field.

“NBCI strongly urges MSNBC to initiate a thorough investigation into the transaction or donation made by the Harris campaign and supports a suspension of Rev. Sharpton pending the outcome of this inquiry.

“In discussions concerning threats to our democracy, the crucial role of a free, open, objective, and transparent press as a foundational element in safeguarding democratic integrity often goes unspoken.

“The Society of Professional Journalism outlines ethical journalism as follows: Journalists should be accurate, fair, honest, and courageous in their efforts to gather, report, and interpret information. They should uphold the following principles: “Ensure accuracy and verify information before dissemination, primarily using original sources.

“Provide context and avoid misrepresentation or oversimplification in news promotion.

“Continuously gather, update, and rectify information throughout the lifespan of a news story.

“Exercise caution in making promises and consistently fulfill them.

“Clearly identify sources, providing the public with ample information to assess the reliability and motives of these sources.

“Assess the motives of sources before granting anonymity, reserving it for those who may face harm and possess irreplaceable information, and justify the use of anonymity.

“Proactively seek responses from news subjects to address criticism or allegations.

“Avoid covert methods of information gathering unless absolutely necessary.

“Hold power to account, amplify marginalized voices, and foster open and respectful discourse.

“Maintain transparency in public affairs and access to public records.

“Provide access to source material when relevant.

“Represent diverse perspectives and seek out underrepresented voices. “Avoid stereotypes and reflect on how personal values may influence reporting.

“Distinguish between advocacy, commentary, and factual reporting.

“Avoid distorting facts or context, including visual representations, and clearly label illustrations and re-enactments.

“Prohibit plagiarism and diligently attribute sources.

“Additionally, as a minister of the Gospel, Rev. Sharpton’s involvement in this payment scenario does not reflect well on his commitment to uphold integrity, aligning with Scriptural teachings that advocate steering clear of even the appearance of impropriety.”
