VIEW From Behind The Plow
When reality strikes
As a child, I presumed the articles and buildings we worked with on the farm were simply there – had always been in existence.
It wasn’t until sometime later that I realized that effort by numerous forebears had created the tools, the barns, the fences – even the stanchions in the milk barn that the cows so willingly stuck their heads in before being locked in to facilitate their donation twice a day to our family’s welfare.
It only occurred to me that things don’t come into existence by accident when Dad decided we needed a hay barn and built one that is still standing on the farm today.
I think it was around that time that it occurred to me that someone – something – had created all the means of life – the air I breathed, the water I drank, the soil that produced the food we ate.
It all seemed a miracle and still does, certainly something that was created by a huge intelligence that I cannot comprehend.
Humans have been trying for centuries to understand the unknowable.
Some – atheists – have expressed the view that the existence of God, the divine, or the supernatural is either unknowable (in principle) or unknown (in fact).
I don’t worry about it. Studies have found that with increasing religious orientation, reduces anxiety.
A Google check reports: The election of Donald Trump as president it is hoped by a majority of Americans will end the attack by the American government on Christianity.
It seems that President Trump has found new meaning for his life; that is, his survival despite two attempts to assassinate him convinced him that God has a plan for him.
The nation appears on its way to a more traditional status with the one worlders now out of power.
There have been no more pronouncements from government elite about traditional Catholics being domestic terrorists, for instance, or that parents who protested Woke philosophies being taught in schools were national terrorists.
The change of attitude is refreshing to those who appreciate the return to constitutional normalcy.
Christians Are Happier and Less Prone to Worry An influential Pew Research Center study, for example, showed that people who are active in religious congregations tend to be happier than unaffiliated or inactive members of religious groups.
That reflects why church remains important in the lives of so many in Kingfisher County.
They didn’t fall for the line put out by the federal government in the Obama-Biden years that Christians were “extremists” – Christian Nationalists.
America was settled by people looking for a place where they could practice their religion in peace. Note: Christian principles are the foundation of our national government despite what the leftists say.
Note: The first universities, Harvard and Yale among them, were established to train Christian ministers.
So-called intellectuals have attempted to make Christian Nationalism bad words.
People who prayed outside abortion clinics have been arrested in America and Europe.
It became common in earlier regimes to hear comments attempting to tie Christians to violent acts.
I don’t recall any, certainly not like the attacks on Elon Musk and his Tesla electric vehicles after he became head of the DOGE department and its efforts to reduce waste and even corruption in the national government.
It seems to me that these actors can be grouped with the Democratic Socialists who lost the 2024 election to Donald Trump.
An article on PBS on the subject of Christian Nationalism, describes it this way: “According to survey data, Christian nationalists agree with statements like the federal government should declare the United States of America a Christian nation. Our laws should be based on Christian values. Being a Christian is important if you want to be a real American.”
Just What Is The Problem?
A theologian could certainly provide a better defense of Christianity than my poor efforts but it seems to me that America operated much more successfully when Christianity was as American as apple pie; there even seemed to be a greater love of country then.
But at that time, the 10 Commandments served as a determinant of civic behavior as opposed to nihilism (life means nothing; all is lost) or that an individual’s personal judgment on goodness is equal to that of the divine (humanism).
Churchgoers participate in the following: study, prayer, singing, fellowship, cooperating on projects to improve their families, their church, their community, state and nation.
Strong families are the bedrock of civilization. In seems to me that Christianity is the absolute opposite of terrorism.
For instance, I have never heard of a terrorist proclaiming we should love our enemy.
While Christians may disagree on certain points, they don’t go to fisticuffs or destroying each others’ property over it.
Hate and destruction is the way of the left.
Trump Wins Again
A federal judge has ruled that the Trump Justice Department met the burden of proof to move forward with deportation proceedings against Syrian national Mahmoud Khalil.
Khalil was arrested in March after organizing violent, pro-terrorism and pro-Hamas riots at Columbia University in the aftermath of the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks against Israel. He is in the country on a student visa and obtained a Green Card. His wife is a U.S. citizen.
A federal judge attempted to overturn Khalil’s deportation.
I don’t recall a federal judge being elected president – or elected to anything.
