Is U.S. success that hard to understand?

By
(a Column Of Opinion By Gary Reid, Publisher Emeritus)

How difficult is it for those who hate America and Israel – and live in the U.S., talking specifically about the radical leftists now leading the Democratic Party – to understand their comfortable lives, better than anywhere else in the world (ever) are made possible by the policies established and honed by conservatives (Christians) since Continental Congress days?

So why are they screaming at President Trump (again) for destroying Iran’s nuclear bomb works?

Oh, I guess I missed the point: Trump did it. (He’s hated because he prevented the Left from gaining complete control of our government, which they’ve been diligently working to do for at least 100 years.)

Question: If Iran’s mullah’s got the “bomb,” would they direct the first one at Israel or the United States? They’re on record urging “death” to both.

Another question; Why are these American leftists so intent on halting the removal of the most dangerous of the 20 million illegal immigrants who entered our nation during the reign of President “Where Am I” Biden, or whoever operated his auto-signer?

Here’s One Answer

An article in Washington Examiner magazine may explain. Entitled “Will someone please think of how much the wealthy have to pay for servants,” the piece begins this way: “Three thousand miles away from the riots in Los Angeles, President Donald Trump’s deportation policies are disrupting life on the quaint little resort island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts: “According to the Washington Post, work has been halted on the construction of multi-million-dollar vacation homes, the pools at luxury resorts are going without maintenance and landscaping companies are falling behind on cutting grass.

“The horror.” The commentary goes on to explain that “the wave of terror” began on May 27 when federal law enforcement officials wearing ICE vests arrested some illegal aliens on the small island of 20,000, and took them off to an army base on the mainland.

Since that time illegal aliens on the island are refusing to show up for work.

“People are losing thousands of dollars,” the owner of a landscaping service reported to the Washington Post, a safely left-wing publication.

The item reported that besides some not coming to work, others self-deported back to Brazil.

“Now we’re behind and it’s slowing everything down,” the source is further quoted.

A Microcosm of Entitled Elitists

The article writer then observed: “Martha’s Vineyard is an apt microcosm of how wealthy communities in the United States have become dependent on illegal labor. Over 60% of the homes on the island are seasonal vacation homes for the rich and are worth $2 million on average. These homes are built, maintained and cleaned, however, by much poorer workers who mostly rent and are mostly foreign and illegal. Of those (people’s) children who attend public schools, about half don’t speak English.

“Without this foreign-born workforce, the wealthy families who vacation on Martha’s Vineyard would have to pay far more for the food service. construction and landscaping services they use during the summer months.

“The wealthy, mostly Democratic, families like to think of themselves as progressive and pro-immigration. But Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) exposed that idea when he flew 48 Venezuelans who had illegally entered the country directly to Martha’s Vineyard.

“To their credit the locals did house and feed the migrants – for all of 48 hours – before the National Guard was summoned to transport them off the island … and to the military base on the mainland.

“How welcoming.”

Can Left Ever Stop Its Craziness?

Such happenings help explain columnist Victor Davis Hanson’s headline reading “Can the Left ever stop its craziness?”

He asks in the column why opposition Democrats, who cherry-pick left-wing district judges (the unelected “kings” who check President Trump’s every initiative) don’t offer to compromise with the president on his proposal to allow green cards to illegal aliens who have no criminal records, have not been on public assistance, are now employed, and have resided in the U.S. for over five years?

The brilliant Hanson concludes his remarks asking “why do Democrats throw two-year-old temper tantrums to howl nihilistically at everything Trump says and does?”

Then he answers his question this way:

• One, exasperated Democrats lack all levers of political power -- the Congress, the White House and the Supreme Court. So, they take to the media and the streets.

• Two, Democrats are permanently frustrated that the more they scream and stomp, the more polls show radical declines in public support for their party.

• Three, their nemesis, 79-year-old Trump, seems impervious to Democratic lawfare, threats, and smears. Despite the hysterical attacks, he is still polling now about where prior presidents like George Bush and Barack Obama were at similar junctures in their second terms.

The more Trump is smeared as a fascist or dictator, the more polls -- like the latest liberal Economist/ YouGov survey – show him gaining public support for securing the border and deportation.

And the more the Left damns Trump as a racist, the more he wins unprecedented Black and Hispanic support. In recent Rasmussen tracking polls, Trump garnered 54 percent approval from Black voters and 53 percent from Hispanics.”

Interesting and a reason to hope that Trump will lead the nation to a new and permanent American golden age.
