Do these elections tell America’s future?

The elections are over for 2025 with socialist Democrats flexing their muscle.

It could portend the future of the United States ... probably in one or more ways.

The election of Socialist -Democrat (maybe communist would be more accurate) Zohran Mamdani – a native of Uganda – as mayor of New York could be a double edged sword.

While it might provide encouragement for the emotionally- driven leftists to support all other leftists, his tenure in the Big Apple may provide examples for more sound-minded individuals to vote for sensible candidates who pledge to enact fiscally-sound policies that prevent the “land of the free” from going bankrupt and-or dictatorial with the misery that would create in the not too distant future.

Mamdani’s promises to provide cheap food by bringing about state-owned grocery store, free child care and free bus rides by taxing “rich” and “White” New Yorkers almost immediately resulted in those New Yorkers fleeing to more stable states.

Question: Who is going to pay those higher taxes once the successful citizens leave?

The old cheap government-owned grocery stores trick has repeatedly failed everywhere. Photos from socialist- communist countries are filled showing poorly-stocked and empty grocery shelves. The idea of free bus rides would undoubtedly turn New York’s already dangerous transportation systems into hostelries for the homeless and other indigents. And, who would you trust to give free care to your children?

Americans Need to Learn ‘Schadenfreude’ Meaning

Columnist Star Parker suggests that “schadenfreude” is a word Americans may become familiar with in the future.

Schadenfreude is “pleasure derived by someone from another person’s misfortune,” she explains.

Parker was talking about the the pleasure Democrats are deriving from the pain inflicted on SNAPS dependents – reportedly 42 million of them in the richest nation in the world – due to the current government shutdown.

Although Democrats created the shutdown by refusing to approve a temporary budget measure, which would have removed funding from the “temporary” federal subsides totaling $450 billion over 10 years, they are using the shutdown to cause the emotion-controlled voters to blame conservatives.

Parker quoted House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries who spoke on “Meet the Press” this way: “Republicans are willing to starve hungry children in this country and take away SNAP benefits.”

That, of course, is pure theater. The funding is not being sent to recipients because the government has been shut down via tactics by House Minority Chairman Charles “Shutdown” Schumer and other Democrats.

Parker also pointed out: “Just several days prior, Jeffries endorsed Zohran Mamdani, running for mayor of New York City.

“SNAP is another government program going back to the 1960s, in which inefficient government largesse was sold as compassion.

“In 1970, there were six million Americans receiving the benefit. Today, it is nearly 42 million.”

Parker also revealed that just six years ago SNAP spending was “only” $63.5 billion annually and now is nearly $100 billion.

Parker also cited this from the American Enterprise Institute:

Most Able-bodied SNAPS Recipients Don’t Work

Less than half of able-bodied working-age SNAP recipients work, and many recipients receive benefits for years.”

Parker also suggested a cure for the excessive spending: “We launched a program at CURE, the institute I founded in Washington, D.C., to publicize the “success sequence” in targeted low-income neighborhoods around the country. We bought billboard space that advertised the “success sequence” for getting out of poverty.

(“Ron Haskins and Isabel Sawhill at the Brookings Institution published their research pointing to the ‘success sequence.’ Per Haskins, for those who followed these rules – finish high school, get a full-time job, get married before having children – about 2 percent wound up in poverty and 75 percent wound up in the middle class.)

Parker is the founder of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE). Her recent book, “What Is the CURE for America?” is available now.

While the Democrat Party goes berserk on the national level, Kingfisher County – also most of Oklahoma – continues to solve its own problems responsibly.

County Sales Tax Has Proven Helpful

The county’s half-cent sales tax, which has been a money-saver in many cases, will come up for a vote for a five-year renewal on Nov. 18.

The tax, which was originally approved in 1991, helps provide many crucial services for county residents and is an investment in the county and its citizens.

It goes to help local fire departments, including purchases of important property- and life-saving equipment, improving county roads, operation of the sheriff’s depart- ment and county jail, as well as helping make possible several county services.

One major benefit of the small tax was evidenced earlier this year with the completion of the new county OSU extension center at the fairgrounds free of debt – no property tax necessary. The extension staff saved the money it received from the sales tax over a period of years until the new facility could be built and paid for.

Another positive feature is that out-of-county visitors help finance these improvements when they buy products at local businesses.

It helps all areas of the county.

Nancy Pelosi Stepping Out … With Multi-millions

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, (D-California) has announced that she will leave her House position at the end of the current term.

During her time in Congress, her net worth has changed substantially, causing some to question how closely tied Congress members and their wealth are when making decisions in office.

Pelosi first entered Congress in 1986 and rose through the Democratic Party’s ranks before serving ultimately as Speaker of the House.

According to Quiver Quantitative, Pelosi and her husband, Paul, have an estimated wealth of $230 million as of 2024.

As speaker, Pelosi earned $223,654 yearly and earns $174,000 as a member of Congress.

Another source reports that the Pelosis have seen a 54% surge in their net worth in the last year, reporting: “The Pelosis have amassed investment gains that significantly outperform the top hedge funds and the S&P 500. According to The New York Post, the couple’s net worth surged to $413 million from their 2023 net worth of $370 million.”

Some rude people have even suggested insider tradng was involved.
