Why Left thinks ‘free for all’ will work

Now we understand why the American Left, as exemplified by Bernie Sanders, the socialist in the race for the Democrat nomination for president, thinks the government can raise the tax rate on very wealthy people and pay for scads of free stuff for others.

It was demonstrated when a couple of corporate media leftists passed on the amazing revelation last week that the $500 million Michael Bloomberg spent on advertising for his brief run for the Democrat presidential nomination could have provided $1 million each to every American.

We were never great at math (if we had been we’d have probably been an engineer or mechanic) but when we divide $500 million by 327 million people (the approximate population of the U.S) we come out with $1.53 per person. Okay, we admit we used the calculator on our computer to come up with the lower number.

A flood of disparaging tweets descended on New York Times editorial member Mara Gay after she uttered on live television the $1 million per American Bloomberg’s advertising could have provided while being interviewed by MSNBC’s Brian Williams last week.

Didn’t Question the Math

Apparently neither questioned the amount during the interview. We don’t spend a lot of time watching MSNBC so we didn’t see and hear the gaffe personally

Ms. Gay responded to the ridicule this way:

“On MSNBC’s ‘The 11th Hour With Brian Williams’ ... we mentioned a tweet, written by someone else, about the enormous amount of money Michael Bloomberg had spent on his failed presidential run, about $500 million. Here’s what I said: ‘Somebody tweeted recently that actually with the money he spent, he could have given every American a million dollars.’

“The math, as a few people have pointed out, was wrong. Overnight, I had become an online sensation, and not in a good way. The video had gone viral, first shared by the right wing, and then by seemingly everyone else, too.”

Then, she apparently launched into a tirade about how “racist” the response was. As we are not a NY Times subscriber, we didn’t see it ourself. It was reported this way:

“I am a black woman who writes for The New York Times and appears on national TV. And if you’re black in America, no matter who you are, what you accomplish or how hard you work, there will always be people to remind you that you are black, that you are ‘just a ni**er.’

“A colleague at The Times, an African-American woman, wrote to me on Friday afternoon, ‘They resent that you exist.’

“It didn’t help that I write for a newspaper where my colleagues are assiduously working to hold a rogue president accountable every day.”

We think we just caught a new reason Sanders thinks his “socialism for all” movement will eventually take off.

Needs Just a Little More lime

A few more years of government school education will mean a majority of American voters with such amazing math skills will be ready to march to the polls to elect someone much like Senator Sanders as president.

Bernie, of course, has never held a real job - just a series of political positions. Democrat power brokers realized American citizens hadn’t reached the nadir that would elect a socialist, yet, so they marshaled their forces and appear to have handed the nomination to former Barack Obama vice president Joe Biden.

Joe keeps the media talking heads amused with his “manly” dust-ups with factory workers who challenge his anti-2nd Amendment proposals, including naughty words thrown in by Joe.

The corporate media, which has become a branch of the socialist movement, still hasn’t figured out they lost the 2016 election, or why.

Townhall Columnist David Limbaugh refers to the media’s attitude toward the current front-runner as a fixation on Biden’s “charming” rudeness and instability.

Limbaugh writes:

“The left’s reaction to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s rude exchange with a union worker in Michigan is a case study on liberal hypocrisy and propaganda.

“You’d have to be living in a cave not to recognize that something is way off with Biden. He’s always been strange, but he’s getting noticeably worse. His rhetorical recklessness is a feature, not a bug.

“He has a history of gaffes, especially for someone so prominent. Casual ethnic slurs roll off his tongue like water off a donkey’s back. Pandering to an Indian American supporter, he said: ‘You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking’ Or how about this tribute to the poor? ‘We have this notion that somehow if you’re poor, you cannot do it,’ he said. ‘Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.’

“How long would a Republican politician last saying those things? Biden always gets a pass because he’s a Democrat.”

Limbaugh, after pointing out that some outlets doctored videos of the Biden-factory worker event by cutting out Biden’s threatening remarks, cited several comments made on national TV:

CNN’s John King said, “Some people see that as charming that a candidate is willing to air it out face to face with a on the floor.”

MSNBC’s Joe Scarbrough said, “Biden yesterday showed the other side of his humanity, and that is he’s a fighter.”

“I think when you listen to Joe ... out on the campaign trail, you see something that resonates with voters,” said Mike Barnicle. “It’s humanity It’s empathy. It’s stability and experience.”

Hollywood leftist Rob “Meathead” Reiner posted a love tweet for Biden: “A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Science, Compassion, Decency, The Rule of Law & Democracy. A vote for Joe Biden is a vote for Sanity.”

Fellow Hollywood commie Debra Messing tweeted, “@JoeBiden will be our next President because of his decency and civility and his refusal to lower himself to your surrogates’ & supporters level.”

If President Trump acted like Joe, the airwaves would be awash with invectives against his “crude, boorish behavior.”

The snobbish, superior attitude of the national media has not gone unnoticed by regular Americans – those who hold regular jobs, take care of their families and pay their taxes even if they don’t approve of many of the ways their taxes are being spent.

They can tell a “fix” when they see one and it appears more and more of them aren’t buying it.
