But you can’t fool all of the people all of the time

But you can’t fool all of the people all of the time
Surprise, surprise, surprise! as Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith show used to say when there was no surprise at all.
I’m talking about the announcement by President Joe Biden that he was pardoning his son, Hunter, for crimes – known and unknown – for the last 10 years.
Although Joe pledged time and again that he would not pardon Hunter, how many people believed he wouldn’t? Only the most gullible surely.
President Biden attempted to explain this hypocrisy by claiming the charges against Hunter were brought selectively and unfairly.
He said: “Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form.”
The president added. “Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.
“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong,” the president said. “There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.”
Biden concluded his statement by insisting that he has spent his “entire career” following “a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth.”
Potential Hunter Biden corruption emerged in the leadup to the 2020 presidential election, as Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute, released his book “Secret Empires.” Schweizer highlighted the fact that Hunter Biden reaped benefits in Ukraine and China while his father had served as the Obama administration’s point-man for Ukraine and had been involved in China diplomacy.
Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, investigated Hunter Biden extensively in the effort to impeach President Biden. While his committee did not file articles of impeachment as a result of the investigation, Comer decried what he called the Bidens’ corruption.
“History will show Joe Biden and his family were the most corrupt occupiers of the White House of any family in the history of America,” Comer told The Daily Signal (publication of the Heritage Foundation) at the time. “And a big footnote will be the investigative work that our committee did and made public.”
The pardon will have a down side to it for the Bidens. Since Hunter is no longer charged, he no longer has the protection of the Fifth Amendment (individuals cannot be forced to provide evidence or testimony that could be used against them in a criminal trial), allowing investigators to question him thoroughly without harm to his personal situation.
This brings to mind the opposition to incoming President Trump’s nominees to cabinet posts and other appointments in the U.S. Senate during the confirmation process.
If Senate opponents seek to disparage the nominees falsely, the nominees will be free to tell their information about the ongoings in Washington during the Obama and Obama-Biden White House regimes.
Oh, the stories they could tell. It was anti-American to the core and Trump’s nominees know all about it and will be obliged to discuss it if Senate opponents bring it up.
Those hearings should put daytime TV watching at an all-time high.
It will shine a spotlight on a bunch that sought to turn America into a Third World socialist mess, like Cuba and Venezuela to name a couple.
The information Trump and his team uncovered will be devastating to the Democratic Party members who are still patriotic citizens; the insiders not so much.
The leftists had taken control of the party machinery. The realization that a second Trump presidency would reveal their deviancy was the reason for years of faux criminal cases being filed against Trump and unending slime production by a complicit major media to defame him.
It took a tough person to stand up to the defamation and still make a second run for president.
The Left thought it had the winning hand. They forgot one thing. Average Americans are not the dumb individuals the elitist left likes to think they are.
Many knew all along that things were rotten in Washington, but it took Trump to stand up to the mob to uncover it.
I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who explained it best. “You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can’t fool all the people all of the time.” That last part just came true.
May we all remember the lesson.
The Left’s attack on America seeking to reduce it to a small part of a worldwide socialist organization (The Reset) will continue.
