Lady Warriors topple Crescent for 3rd tournament title this season

Three tournaments.

Three championships.

That’s the story this year for the Okarche Lady Warriors as they claimed yet another title last weekend…and yet another one at Coyle.

Okarche rode a hot start Saturday to defeat Crescent 42-30 in Saturday’s championship of the Coyle Invitational.

It’s the fourth straight year the Lady Warriors have won the Coyle crown and the second straight to do it against Crescent.

The teams both got off to a solid start, but Okarche’s was better.

Raegan Robinson nailed a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points while Rachel McDowell added eight more as Okarche got out to an 18-11 lead.

That lead grew to 12 points by halftime.

Crescent didn’t let Okarche pull away, but also couldn’t close the gap in the second half.

After the first quarter, Crescent couldn’t crack double digits in a quarter.

The Lady Tigers were led by Katie Cronister’s 12 points.
