All area FB teams scrimmage Friday
The first football scrimmages of the season are this Friday for area teams.
It’s also the only scrimmage for half of them.
Two county squads will be lining up across from one another when Hennessey travels to Cashion.
It will be the first look at the Eagles under new head coach Paul Hix, who is bringing a more wide-open, spread offense to the program.
There won’t be much new in Cashion, however, as the Wildcats return 20 of 22 starters from last year’s team that went undefeated in the regular season.
The teams will begin at 7 p.m.
Kingfisher makes its annual trek to Oklahoma City when it goes to Casady on Friday.
The scrimmage begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature both varsity and JV snaps.
Crescent also hits the road as it goes west to Mooreland.
The Tigers and Bearcats begin their scrimmage at 6 p.m.
This week’s scrimmage will be the only one for Cashion and Crescent.
Both teams kick off their seasons Aug. 30 as Cashion travels to Drumright and Crescent to Woodland.
KHS and Hennessey have their season openers on Sept. 6.
The Jackets will host Tuttle while the Eagles travel to Perkins.
Prior to that, Kingfisher will travel to Clinton for its second scrimmage while Hennessey goes to Beggs.
