Beebe, Garner earn spots on WAC teams

Senior Jenni Beebe was named to the girls’ first team when Western Athletic Conference coaches voted for the all-conference team.

Beebe, an Oklahoma Baptist University signee, averaged 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals.

Rayland Garner was selected to the second team. The sophomore led the team with 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds and was tied for the team lead with 1.7 steals.

Sophomore Allison Green and junior Britt Taylor got honorable mention.

Green averaged 7.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while Taylor added 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

KHS went 7-4 in the conference. Its four losses were to Anadarko, Weatherford, Tuttle and Newcastle, teams that take up half of the Class 4A state tournament bracket.

The Lady Jackets were 19-10 overall and finished one win shy of reaching the state tournament.
