Wynnewood entered last week’s playoff game at Cashion having scored 39 points all season long.

Granted, it was only in seven games, but that point total is commonly referred to in Cashion as a subpar half.

And so the Wildcats did just as expected last Friday in dispatching of the visiting Savages 56-6 to advance to the second round of the Class A playoffs.

Cashion will host Elmore City-Pernell, a 40-12 victor against Oklahoma Christian Academy, at 7 p.m. Friday.

“I told my guys they had two quarters,” Shackelford said in his pregame talk with starters. “I wanted them to go out and play like it was for a state title.”

They followed their coach’s directive.

Cashion led 35-0 after a quarter and had all its points by halftime.

Brexten Green scored on offense, defense and special teams in that stretch.

He returned a fumble 54 yards for a score and later made it 35-0 with his 65-yard punt return.

He added a 6-yard TD reception from Ben Hannan in the second quarter.

Harman was 12 of 18 for 204 yards passing. He added TD throws of 15 yards to Landon LaGasse, 25 yards to Mason Manning and 63 yards to Caden Harrell.

Harrell chipped in two more rushing touchdowns, which accounted for half of his carries.

One was from 35 yards out on Cashion’s first possession and another from the same distance in the third quarter.

His four carries netted 84 yards. Jake Branson added nine carries for 34 yards.

Cashion out-gained the Savages 329-104.

Max Brown joined Green in recovering a fumble to go with five tackles.

Kyler George had six tackles, three of them for a loss.

Branson was also in on six tackles while Nick Nabavi added five.

Cashion enters this week’s round with an 11-0 mark.

Elmore City-Pernell is 5-2 overall and was 3-1 in District A-4, good for fourth place.
