The Deer Creek-Lamont Eagles kept their place atop the Cherokee Strip Conference Tournament.

Class B-II’s third-ranked team used a dominant third quarter to pull away from Lomega for a 71-46 victory in the title game last Friday morning at Pioneer-Pleasant Vale High School.

It was the second year in a row for DCLA to topple the Raiders in the championship as Lomega was making its third straight appearance.

The Raiders won the title in 2024.

They were within 30-20 of the Eagles at halftime Friday as Jaxson Snowden poured in 10 first-half points.

However, Snowden was held scoreless the rest of the night and DCLA went on a 26-6 run in the third quarter.

Brice Bledsoe scored 8 of his game-high 20 points for DCLA in that pivotal frame. Lomega had to depend on the long ball in the second half as all but two of their 26 points came from beyond the arc.

Noah Lentz made two treys for all 6 of his points as did Jaxx Johnson.

Lance Yost made two in the game as part of his 9 points.

DCLA moved to 19-1 on the season while Lomega dropped to 12-7.

The Raiders made eight treys in their 63-52 victory over Medford in Thursday’s semifinal.

Breckon Murray made three of them for all 9 of his points.

Lentz and Yost made two apiece.

Lentz scored 11 while Yost scored 9.

Snowden led the team with 15 points while Cameron Ramer added 13.

Ramer went 4 of 4 from the foul line in the fourth quarter as the Raiders held onto their lead.
