Dover’s Sam Wood had his career-best round Thursday as he shot a 1-under par 71 at the Bluejay Bash held at Lake Hefner Golf Club’s North Course.

Wood was one of 20 golfers to shoot under-par on the day.

His score tied him for 14th out of 105 individuals.

Heritage Hall’s Ben Lathrop, who set a tournament record in winning the Kingfisher Large School Invitational earlier this season, won the tournament with a 65.

Harper Nance of Crossings Christian was second with a 66 and Hudson Hobbs of Plainview third with a 68.

Three golfers shot 69, seven turned in a 70 and Wood was one of seven to fire off a 71.

Wood birdied two of his final three holes. He had four birdies and three bogeys in his round.

Kingfisher was also in the tournament and their 297 was their second-best round of the season.

It was only two shots behind their 295 they scored on their home course earlier this year.

Paytun Burnham, Myles Harrison and Luciano Orozco all shot a 74, which tied for 24th.

Cale Reagan carded a 75 and tied for 33rd.

Matthew Mecklenburg finished with an 89. Playing as an individual, Ryan Sanders turned in an 88 for the Jackets.

Kingfisher’s score placed the Jackets seventh out of 19 full teams.

Oklahoma City Storm Golf won the team title with a 280, one stroke better than Plainview.

Jackets 2nd at Marlow

The KHS boys shot a 319 on Wednesday to take second place in the Marlow High School Boys Invitational.

Harrison shot a 4-overpar 74 to finish third individually.

Orozco shot a 79, good for 13th.

Reagan and Burnham shot 83s to tie for 24th and Mecklenburg’s 89 was good for 37th. Playing individually, Sanders finished at 82 to place 22nd.
