EAGLES WIN AGAIN –The Oklahoma Eagles Elite basketball team, which features coaches and players from Cashion, had another successful event last weekend. The team beat the Elite Natives 67-63 in overtime in the finals of the Bracket Buster Tournament at the Sons of Ireland facility in Piedmont. That win came after a 44-41 victory over Oklahoma Wolfpack in the semifinals. Team members include, from left: front row, Austin Osby, Edmond; Vance Raney, Cashion; Jonah Jenkins, Cashion; TJ Kelly, Guthrie; coach Luke Jenkins; and head coach Vaughn Raney; and back row, Anthony Cox, Yukon; Logan Williams, Edmond; Mickey Hunnicutt, Springer and Dominic Turner, Cushing. Vance Raney and Jonah Jenkins were starters on Cashion’s team last season as the Wildcats qualified for state for the first time since 1996. Vaughn Raney and Luke Jenkins are former Wildcats standouts. Larry Jenkins, an assistant coach pictured kneeling in the front, is the grandfather of all four. The Eagles will play in Bigfoot Hoops’ Las Vegas Main Event tournament July 8-12. Prior to that, they’ll take part in the PrepHoops Grind SZN Kickoff in Edmond. [Photo provided]
