Girls golfers 2nd at Hennessey
Ryan Scammahorn’s career-best round helped Kingfisher to a runner-up finish Thursday in the Hennessey Lady Eagle Classic.
The freshman shot a 96 to place 15th out of 99 golfers competing at Turkey Creek Golf Course.
Kingfisher’s first tournament of the season saw Scammahorn play her first full round of golf. Now she’s broken 100 for the first time.
Kingfisher was led by senior Raegan Snider’s 82 on the par-70 course.
Snider placed third individually behind Devry Metcalf of Hooker (78) and Preslee Hunt of Davis (79).
Fourth place went to Ponca City’s Ella McKee, who shot an 89.
Kingfisher’s 381 team score was second only to Hooker’s 365. Ponca City and Ripley both shot 398.
The Lady Jackets saw Layla Kroener shoot 100, which placed her 26th, and Addison Johnson’s 103 was good for 34th.
Hennessey shot a 482 and Okarche a 498 in the 17-team field.
