Kingfisher High School boys basketball assistant coach was selected for one of the top honors in the profession last week. Green was named the head coach of the Large West team for the Oklahoma Coaches Association boys basketball All-State game. Green will coach his squad against the Large East at the annual All-State games held the last week of July at the Mabee Center in Tulsa. Green just wrapped up his third season as a KHS boys assistant coach. During that stretch, KHS has gone 84-5, won two state championships and a state runner-up finish. That includes this season’s campaign, which concluded last Saturday with a 59-39 win over Heritage Hall in the Class 4A title game, giving KHS a 28-1 record for the second straight year. Green also serves as the head fastpitch and slow-pitch softball coach at KHS.
