A nine-stroke swing helped Maddi Kamas handily win her third Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour tournament of the season.

Kamas fired an evenpar 71 Sunday at the Lincoln Park Golf Club West course in Oklahoma City to win the 2020 Best of the West Classic.

The Kingfisher High School senior trailed the leader by five strokes after an opening-day 74 on Saturday, but eventually won by four strokes.

Jenna Triplett of Edmond was the runner-up with a 149. She was eight strokes back of the dayone leader, Kate Tilma of Eastborough, Kan.

Tilma fired a red-hot 69 Saturday to lead the pack. Her nearest competitor was Lily Whitley of Edmond, who shot a 72.

Kamas was in third place entering the second day while Triplett was further back with her 77.

Kamas had the low round on a windy Sunday and Triplett shot a 72.

The next-best Sunday score was a 75.

Tilma fell back to third with her second-round 81.

After opening Sunday with a birdie, Kamas dropped to 2-over par for the day with bogeys on the fourth, eighth and ninth holes.

She steadied for much of the back-nine earning pars on six straight holes before garnering birdies on 16 and 17.

Kamas closed out with a par to easily seal the win.

Tilma struggled down the stretch as she was 6-over on the back-nine Sunday and 9-over on her final 12 holes.

After carding five birdies Saturday, she couldn’t grab one Sunday.

Kamas now sits in fourth place in the OJGT’s fall season standings.

She’s played in just three tournaments and won all three.

Reagan Chaney of Ardmore is first and has played in eight tournaments.

Lilly Whitley and Olivia Coit, both of Edmond, are second and third, respectively. Whitley has played in six tournaments and Coit seven.
