Kingfisher’s Brayden Kochenower is officially an All-State wrestler.

Kochenower was named to the 144-pound slot on Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State squad for the Small West recently.

He placed third at 144 pounds in the Class 3A state tournament this season.

Kochenower entered state as the western regional champ, but lost his opening- round match.

He fought through the consolation bracket and pinned Mason Young of Blackwell in the bronze medal match.

It was Young who defeated Kochenower in the quarterfinals.

Kochenower finished his senior campaign with a 26-5 record.

He was a two-time state placer for KHS, having finished as runner-up at his weight as a sophomore.

The Small West All-State wrestlers will take on the Small East during the annual OCA All-State games in late July in Edmond.
