Hennessey’s momentum didn’t stay behind in Yale.

Three days after winning the Yale Tournament championship, the Lady Eagles grabbed their biggest win of the season.

Katie Kennedy and Emma Copeland combined for 32 points Tuesday as Hennessey beat 2A’s 14th-ranked Cashion 49-43 on the road.

Quiet in the first half, Kennedy scored all 19 of her points in the second half when Hennessey outscored its hosts 31-22.

She scored nine in the third as the Lady Eagles outscored Cashion 15-6, turning a halftime deficit into a six-point lead.

That lead stuck in the fourth as Hennessey went 11 of 15 from the free throw line.

Kennedy was 7 of 8 and scored 10 in the quarter.

As a team, the Lady Eagles made 22 of 29 free throws. Cashion attempted just seven.

Megan Shafer scored four early points as Cashion got out to a 9-5 lead.

She was just getting warmed up.

The senior post player added eight points in the second quarter, though the lead was trimmed to 21-18.

The Lady Wildcats were coming off their own biggest win of the year as they beat then-No. 8 Riverside in the finals of the Cashion County Line Tournament.

But they couldn’t match Hennessey in the second half.

Shafer finished with a gamehigh 24 points, but no other Cashion player scored more than five.

Copeland scored 13 for the Lady Eagles.

She scored five in each of the first two quarters, then went 3 of 4 from the foul line in the second half.

Star Torres and Ally Painter each scored six for Hennessey, which pushed its season mark to 11-6.

The Lady Eagles have won five straight and eight of their last nine. They are 4-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Cashion is 14-7 and 2-2.

Wildcats victorious at home Coming off a pair of losses, Cashion’s road didn’t appear to be getting any easier Tuesday with Hennessey coming to town.

The Eagles were coming off a Yale Tournament championship.

So, naturally, Cashion secured a 60-50 victory in the Three Rivers Conference matchup.

The Wildcats got double digits out of four players, led by a double-double by Carson Gump.

He produced 15 points and 12 rebounds as Cashion built a 10-point halftime lead, then held off the Eagles in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats did so despite making just 9 of 23 free throws.

Parker Mitchell added 13 and Anthony Wilburn 12 for Cashion.

Drake Woody chipped in 11 as Cashion moved to 15-6 overall.

Camdyn Richardson continued his hot streak as he scored 27 points for the Eagles. He was 5 of 11 from 3-point range.

Hagen Copeland added 13. Hennessey fell to 9-8.
