Despite his team’s fi rst easy victory of the season, Gerrett Spears wasn’t overly pleased with the Kingfi sher Lady Jackets on Tuesday night.

KHS knocked off Chickasha 51-28 at the APB to improve to 2-2.

The game was over nearly as quickly as it started as Kingfisher led 13-3 after the first quarter and 33-12 by halftime.

“I just didn’t feel we had the same intensity or effort that we played with against Newcastle or Weatherford,” Spears said.

Although he relented that the “quality” of opponent led to what he called some sloppy play, Spears said it wasn’t acceptable.

“I told them after the game that we can’t play that way,” he said. “We have to play at a high level with our intensity all the time.”

Despite Spears’ feelings afterward, Kingfi sher had no issues overcoming 24 turnovers and 20 percent 3-point shooting.

The Lady Jackets forced 26 turnovers and turned them into 29 points.

KHS had an 18-2 advantage in transition points and outscored Chickasha 32-2 in the paint.

There was also a wide disparity in rebounds: 34-18.

That led to the wide margin on the scoreboard and 12 Lady Jackets getting to see action.

Rayland Garner led the team with 12 points while adding fi ve rebounds.

Kina Frost chipped in 11 points in just 14 minutes.

KHS also got eight points from Britt Taylor and seven points and seven rebounds from Jenni Beebe.
