Lady Jackets head south for Class 4A softball regional

Kingfisher travels south on Thursday and Friday for its softball regional.

The Lady Jackets are in a three-team regional that will be hosted by Plainview.

Also taking part is Pauls Valley.

Plainview earned the right to host by placing second in District 4A-4.

The Lady Indians were 9-3 in the district that was won by Lone Grove.

Plainview is 22-7 overall. Kingfisher was third in District 4A-3 with its 7-5 record and is 23-7 overall.

Pauls Valley placed sixth in 4A-2 with a 3-9 record and is 17-17 overall.

Kingfisher and Pauls Valley play at noon Thursday to open the regional as Plainview earns a first-round bye.

KHS and Pauls Valley have met once this season.

The Lady Jackets won 3-0 on Aug. 16. It was the second of five wins in one day that saw KHS win a tournament hosted by Pauls Valley.

The regional is double- elimination and the winner advances to next week’s super regional.

Thursday

Game 1: Plainview receives a bye Game 2: Pauls Valley vs. Kingfisher, noon Game 3: Loser 1 receives a bye Game 4: Plainview vs. Winner 4, 2 p.m.

Game 5: Loser 4 vs. Loser 2, 4 p.m.

Friday

Game 6: Winner 4 vs. Winner 5, noon Game 7: If necessary, 2 p.m.
