Lady Jackets place fifth in competitive field at Bethany

Southwest Covenant proved to be the best in the Bethany Bronchos Invitational cross country meet that featured some of the top girls teams on the west side of the state.
The Patriots, winners of the Kingfisher meet the week before, won the small school girls race (Classes 2A through 4A) with just 44 points last Friday morning.
That topped runner-up Bethany by 40 points.
Kingfisher was fifth in the meet with 109 points.
Southwest Covenant is ranked second in Class 2A.
Bethany is sixth in 4A. Heritage Hall, the fifthranked team in Class 3A, notched 101 points to place third.
Pauls Valley was fourth with 107 points, two fewer than KHS. Pauls Valley is seventh in Class 4A while the Lady Jackets are ranked eighth.
KHS was paced by senior Scout Snodgrass, who was eighth overall.
She ran the two-mile course in 13:09.9.
Southwest Covenant had the top two finishers, including Berkley Jackson, who won the race in 11:45.1.
Addison Price was 13th for Kingfisher. She finished in 13:19.3.
Harper Evans placed 19th in 13:36.9.
The top 20 placers in each race earned a medal.
Also scoring for KHS were Ryann Farrar and Lily Lunsford.
Farrar finished 29th among scoring runners and 30th overall.
Lunsford was 41st and 43rd, respectively.

Cashion’s Cole Baustert just missed medaling in the small-school boys’ race.
He placed 21st by running the 5K course in 18:19.7.
Wyatt Long led Kingfisher’s contingent with a time of 19:39.4. He placed 39th.

Kingfisher had three medalists in the JV girls race.
Maya Haney placed seventh with her time of 15:41.3.
Rylee Long-Bush was 10th in 15:44.4 and Celeste Charqueño was one place behind her in 15:45.3.

Cashion’s Hattie Wood dominated the eighth grade middle school girls race.
Wood, who also won at Kingfisher the previous week, ran the 1.5 mile course in 9:17.2.
She was 14 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
Kingfisher’s Olyvia Cooper was 12th in the seventh grade girls race. Also a 1.5 mile track, she completed it in 10:28.9.
