A two-win Cache team wasn’t supposed to give the fifth-ranked Kingfi sher Lady Jackets much resistance Tuesday in their matchup at the APB.

And it didn’t. The Lady Jackets got their fifth straight win as they downed Cache 63-13.

Kingfisher scored 14 points before Cache even attempted its first field goal of the game.

The Lady Jackets were up 23-0 after a quarter and scored the game’s first 26 points.

They held Cache scoreless in both the first and third quarters and led 57-4 through three quarters.

Cache never did crack Kingfisher’s press and the Lady Jackets pulled out of it in the first quarter. Still, the Lady Bulldogs struggled to take care of it, committing 36 turnovers on the night.

Those miscues led to 39 Kingfisher points.

Of those turnovers, 24 were steals. Mattie Slezickey led the team with six of them to go with her eight points and four assists from her point guard position.

Reese Roof had five steals and also led the team with 17 points.

Abbie Myers scored 12 points and had four steals.

Ela Hartman joined Slezickey in scoring eight points.

Kingfisher, which improved to 15-3 on the season, also out-rebounded Cache 27-16. Adlee Friesen and Taitym Walker led the team with five apiece.
