Lady Raiders pull away from Drummond

There were plenty of holes for Kevin Lewallen to poke into the performance, but his Lomega Lady Raiders still got the win.
His team outscored Drummond by 12 in the fourth quarter to finally pull away Tuesday in a 77-58 road win.
Up by just seven points after both teams scored 18 in the third, the Lady Raiders went on a 25-13 run to close the game.
Sophomore Reagan Snowden scored nine of those points before fouling out and Bree Yost added seven more.
The Lady Raiders didn’t ice the game at the free throw line as they only attempted three in the quarter.
Only one of those went in, which was indicative of the whole night.
“We fouled too much and we missed too many free throws,” Lewallen said.
Indeed, Lomega went just 5 of 19 (26.3 percent) from the charity stripe.
The team committed 22 fouls.
On top of Snowden fouling out, two starters - Samantha Rivera and Aliana Lawson - finished the game with four fouls.
That sent Drummond to the line 25 times. The Lady Bulldogs made good on 15 of them.
Until she was whistled for the last foul, Drummond had no answer for Snowden.
She had at least three field goals in every quarter and finished the game with 30 points.
Her Achille’s heel, however, was at the line.
“She’d have scored 40 if she made her free throws,” quipped Lewallen.
Close.
Snowden made 2 of 11 foul shots.
Yost finished the game with 15 and made three 3-pointers.
Two of those were in the first quarter as Lomega got out to a 20-14 lead.
But Drummond was able to keep pace until the fourth quarter, only being outscored by one point in the middle two frames.
The Lady Bulldogs were led by Kendra Dillingham’s 16 points. She scored 10 in the third quarter.
Four Drummond players reached double figures.
Lawson joined Yost and Snowden in double figures with 12 for Lomega.
She knocked down two treys as did Whitney Ramer, who scored eight.
