Lomega brings back a pair of conference wins from Medford
Another big early lead vaulted Lomega to another Cherokee Strip Conference win.
The Lady Raiders stayed unbeaten in their conference Tuesday with a 68-51 victory at Medford.
Three days after winning the conference tournament for a 10th straight year, Lomega improved to 19-1 on the season and 6-0 in conference regular season games.
The first quarter is where Lomega secured this one as the visitors jumped to a 2612 advantage.
Hadley Ott was the main culprit as the junior made four 3-pointers in the first period.
She added two more in the second quarter and finished with a game-high 18 points.
Paige Wheeler knocked down four treys in the game and scored 16 points while Reagan Snowden scored 12.
Lomega also got nine points from Aliana Lawson.
The Lady Raiders’ lead was 50-32 at halftime.
Raiders win by 18
Like the Lady Raiders, the Lomega boys jumped to a big early lead and rode it to a 62-44 victory at Medford.
Chase Burton scored eight points as Lomega built a 23-8 lead in the first eight minutes.
He made two of the Raiders’ four treys in the quarter.
One of them came from Lance Yost, who delivered at least one field goal in every quarter.
He finished the game with 21 points and joined Burton in making three 3-pointers.
The Raiders also got 11 points from Jaxson Snowden and eight from Brenden Uhlenhake.
The Raiders are now 14-6 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
