Sydney Manning is Sweet 16 bound. The Missouri State freshman scored seven points Monday, including a pivotal 3-pointer late in the second half, as the Lady Bears upset third-seeded Iowa State 69-60 in the second round of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament in Ames, Iowa. The win advanced 11th-seeded Missouri State to this weekend’s third round. They take on second-seeded Stanford at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Chicago. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Manning is a 2018 graduate of Cashion High School. She helped guide the Lady Wildcats to a 28-3 record and a 2A runner-up finish in her lone season with the team. She earned OGBCA and OCA All-State status and also was the 2018 Class 2A girls golf individual champion. [Photo by Russell Stitt/www.stitt.smugmug.com]
