Okarche, Dover one step away from state baseball

Okarche and Dover will continue their quests to reach the fall baseball state tournament this weekend.

Top-ranked Okarche will host a Class A regional while Dover will travel to Stuart in Class B.

All fall regionals (four in each class) will feature four teams and will be double- elimination with two teams from each regional advancing to state.

Okarche (25-2) will be joined by Sterling, Wister and Union City.

Sterling is ranked 16th in the class while Union City is eighth and Wister ninth.

The Longhorns are sixth in Class B.

Host Stuart is the highest- ranked in the regional at No. 3.

Boswell (14th) and Moss (11th) are also in the regional.

Following is a schedule for each regional:

Class A at Okarche Thursday

Game 1: Okarche vs. Sterling, 2 p.m.

Game 2: Wister vs. Union City, 4 p.m.

Game 3: Winner 1 vs.

Winner 2, 6 p.m. (winner advances to state)

Friday

Game 4: Loser 1 vs. Loser 2, 2 p.m.

Game 5: Winner 4 vs. Loser 3, 4 p.m. (winner advances to state)

Class B at Stuart Thursday

Game 1: Stuart vs. Boswell, 2 p.m.

Game 2: Moss vs. Dover, 4 p.m.

Game 3: Winner 1 vs. Winner 2, 6 p.m. (winner advances to state) Friday Game 4: Loser 1 vs. Loser 2, 2 p.m.

Game 5: Winner 4 vs. Loser 3, 4 p.m. (winner advances to state)
