Callie Cramer’s double- double and the team’s efficient night at the free throw line propelled Okarche to a 43-30 home win over Thomas last Friday.

Cramer scored a gamehigh 19 points and added 10 rebounds as Class A’s fifth-ranked Lady Warriors improved to 12-3.

Okarche doubled up Thomas 16-8 in the first quarter and extended the lead to 24-11 by half.

The Lady Warriors did it despite shooting 29 percent in the half and just 28 percent for the game.

To make up for it, the team was 19 of 24 (79 percent) from the free throw line.

Cramer made 10 of her 14 attempts.

Katie Parham knocked down 5 of 6 free throws for the bulk of her 7 points.

Channing Wright led 18th-ranked Thomas with 12 points.

Thomas was just 4 of 10 from the line as a team.

The Lady Terriers were also dominated on the glass as Okarche had a 30-14 advantage.

Warriors take care of business early

Thomas was overwhelmed early and never recovered Friday in an 8848 loss at Okarche.

The Warriors hit the accelerator from the tip and led 27-6 after a quarter.

The lead grew to 43-16 at the half before Thomas managed to - mostly - keep up in the third.

As is usually the case, Okarche’s opponent struggled in the turnover game as the Terriers coughed it up 29 times.

That led to some easy buckets for Okarche, which had 22 points off turnovers.

Three Warriors reached double figures in scoring, led by Jett Mueggenborg’s 24 points.

He added 11 rebounds and also had 6 assists.

Easton Roby buried four 3-pointers as part of his 23 points.

Ethan Kirby added 10 points.

The win was Okarche’s fifth straight since losing three in a row at the Tournament of Champions.

Class A’s top-ranked team was 15-3 after the victory.
