Before the season began, Cashion figured to have one of the toughest non-district schedules in the state.

Last week was the exception.

The Wildcats debuted on their home field for 2020 and made quick work of Perry in a 49-13 victory.

A 29-point second quarter allowed Cashion to lead 36-0 at halftime, one that grew to 49 points by the end of the third.

The Maroons - 64-7 los-ers to Pawhuska in their opener - figured to provide the least resistance in Cashion’s first month.

Games loom next week at Minco and then the following week at home against Thomas for the Wildcats.

Those opponents - as well as Cashion - remain ranked among the top in Class A.

Class 2A Perry didn’t fall into that category as Cashion tallied 553 yards of offense to just 152 for the Maroons.

Perry had no answer for Cashion’s passing attack as Ben Harman was 14 of 26 for 363 yards and four scores.

Brexten Green was his top target and once again delivered a monster game.

Green hauled in seven passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns.

His scores covered 43, 72 and 9 yards.

Mason Manning, who had a 12-yard TD reception, caught three passes for another 77 yards and Landon LaGasse two for 61.

Of course, the Maroons didn’t fare well in stopping the Cashion run game either.

The Wildcats averaged 5.4 yards a carry.

Caden Harrell was called on to tote it 16 times and delivered 126 yards.

He scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and then 4 yards in the second. He added another 3-yard run in the third.

Cashion’s defense surrendered just 3.0 yards a carry and picked off a pair of passes.

Harrell and Jacob Farrow totaled eight tackles apiece.

Farrow had one of the interceptions and Manning the other.

Manning also had seven tackles.
