One of the best teams in Class 2A was absolutely no match for the one ranked atop 4A.

Kingfisher flexed some muscle last Friday as it dominated 2A’s second-ranked Pirates 69-33 on the road.

Bijan Cortes posted a triple-double in his first outing since committing to play at the University of Oklahoma and Matthew Stone added his own double-double while the Jackets dominated from the start.

Kingfisher led 21-4 after a quarter and was on top 41-11 by halftime.

At that point, Cortes had 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

The lead swelled to 60-22 by the end of the third quarter when the nights of Stone, Cortes and the other starters were done.

Cortes ended with 27 points, 10 boards and 10 assists.

He was 5 of 7 from 3-point range and 10 of 17 overall from the field.

Stone chipped in another 14 points and 10 rebounds.

He made 7 of his 11 attempts.

Overall, KHS was 50 percent from the field while making 10 of 22 3-point attempts.

Maverick Ridenour tossed in three of those from beyond the arc to account for all nine of his points.

Jarret Birdwell scored six.

KHS was 17-0 after the win. Dating back to last season, the Jackets have won 39 straight.

They began this week ranked No. 1 with games at No. 8 Bethany on Tuesday (after press time) and at Anadarko on Friday.
