The regular season is wrapping up this week for the larger classes of fastpitch softball with playoffs ready to begin next week.

However, the smaller classes are getting a head start.

That includes baseball. The fall baseball postseason begins Thursday for county teams - and those statewide.

That includes Okarche in Class A and Dover and Lomega in Class B.

They have a 23-2 record with their lone losses being to Preston and Dale - the teams ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in Class 2A by a combined three runs.

Okarche also has two wins over Dale this season.

Dover will also host a district and enters the postseason ranked sixth with a 17-6 record.

Lomega travels to second- ranked Calumet for its district.
