Abbie Myers flirted with a triple-double as Kingfisher’s win streak continued to grow early this week.

KHS pulled away from Woodward 65-38 on Tuesday to give the Lady Jackets their 13th consecutive win.

The 12th win came the night before as Kingfisher emerged 42-28 at Cache.

With one regular season game remaining (Friday night vs. Elk City after press time), the Lady Jackets pushed their season mark to 20-3. They haven’t lost since the championship game of the Bertha Frank Teague Mid-America Classic in late December.

That was to Washington, the top-ranked team and defending champ in Class 3A, which has beaten Kingfi sher twice this season.

Tuesday’s win was the Lady Jackets’ second over the Boomers.

The first came in the semifinals of the Buckle of the Wheatbelt.

The home team hung with KHS much of the first half.

Ela Hartman put Kingfisher up 25-15 with a 3-pointer with 2:30 to go in the first half, but Woodward pulled within 6 by halftime.

But the Lady Jackets dominated much of the third quarter and pulled away with a 21-9 run.

Six different Lady Jackets scored, including Myers, but it was her passing that set up everyone else.

Myers had 4 assists in the quarter as Mattie Slezickey, Reese Roof, Hartman and Taitym Walker all scored buckets.

It helped offset Lexi Mendell catching fire with three of her four 3-pointers in the second half.

The Woodward senior scored 18, but no other Boomer scored more than 6.

Four different Lady Jackets hit double figures in scoring.

Slezickey and Roof joined Myers in notching 13 points apiece.

Hartman finished with 11 and Walker scored 7.

Myers also had 10 rebounds and finished with 6 assists in the game, both of which led the team.

Entering the final regular season game, Myers is 13 points shy of 1,000 for her career. She recently surpassed 500 career rebounds.

Cache was never able to sustain any offense against the Lady Jackets.

The Lady Bulldogs had just four field goals and 12 points in the first half.

That output was nearly matched by Hartman.

The sophomore scored 10 in the first half, including two treys and 8 points in the second quarter.

She finished with a gamehigh 14.

Myers scored 12 while Roof finished with 5.
